Well, I've been busy.... but here is an update. I had Ron Bender (www.jrmarine.com) replace the gimbal ring and check out the steering for me... Thanks Ron! He also found that the tiller arm was loose/worn.

Couple of photos of the ring- check out the cracks- scary:

Hi i am looking at buying a 30ft. superboat cat/tunnel hull. any idea on what just a plain hull might be worth?, thanks for your help.
