I wonder how MDG,s konrad boat stacks up to Gary,s bravo Superbaby? Both have 800hp. MDG,s top speed of 94 at 6000rpm rite / wrong ? And Gary,s top speed of 94 at Im guessing 5500 rite / wrong ? Lets get the prop slip numbers for both and see how good both setups are !!
Superbabi vs. MDG is not only Bravo vs. Konrad but older hull vs. newer hull...

Mike, yes 5500 rpm's. on the Ron Potter Motor. Pat, I would guess an 800 on the newer bottom would be in 95-96 range with the XR.

Mike, we played with a merc. maxiums 5 blade 32 cut down, more like a 31. That hull likes the odd sized props, with the 600 sci it was a maximus 5 blade
28 cut to a 27. So I guess the slip is at 13%.

My set up spins a 29 p5x hydromotive lab finish,94 at 6000rpm,i have also run a bravo 1 31 labbed 92 at around 5700-5800,one thing that i have noticed is that boat picks up rpm and speed with a lot of trim, doesn't seam to lift the bow much more but seems to losen up prop, most step hull v bottoms reach top speed at very little positive trim, was thinking if drive was a little higher might losen up prop a little. Was also thinking a 5blade herring might be nice prop on this set-up.Also another big factor is weight, mine has the race lay-up not sure if any lighter, not sure on garys hull, zuperboat hull i heard was built super light and has always run real fast

Gary spinning a 32p at 5500 with a 1.5 gear and 94mph gives you a slip of 15% Spinning a 30p at 5500 gives you a slip of 10%
Hey Zup,
How's my slow boat doing?
68mph at 4600rpm with a 26p...

Well, my last run in Oct was 84 mph. 775 hp, 29 L hydro, 5600 rpm. 3 guys, less than 1/2 fuel
Last year we hit 90, same prop @ 5900 rpm, no fuel and 2 guys
Same water conditions

Pat Velocity hulls usually have good slip numbers. Its the pad. You numbers for 4600/26p/1.5gear/68mph give you a slip of 9.9% . Great number. PE ,s 5600/29p/1.5/84mph = 18% 5900/29p/1.5/90mph=16% Gary,s boat going from 15% to 10% at the same rpm with less pitch could be from different prop designs/ diameters and number of blades. My boat with a 5 blade had great slip great grip but slower top end. Like Pat said earlier Ive been messing with my boat for 8 years. Ive give all the credit to Skip over at MRD. I should have just dropped off the boat their 7 years ago and I could have saved alot of time.
