Top speed of 30'cc w/twin 250's ?

We should all start taking bets on how fast this boat will go. I'm guessing 87.

I am guessing 83-84

Pat McPherson 11-25-2009 08:18 AM

(2) 250HP outboards = (1) 525HP io.
82-83mph tops, and that is plenty fast...

Will be interesting to see what effect not having the full deck will have on performance vs the change in aerodyamics, etc

How much lighter is the Y2KCC with twin 250s going to be vs the Y2K Sport with a single big block?
My guess is 4-500lbs.
I would also guess the added hydrodynamic drag from 2 outboads vs 1 oi will off set the weight savings.
If you guys will let a Velocity guy in on a pool, I'll put down a 20 for 82mph...:evilb:

Not sure on total weight savings, plan is to weigh the trailer, then weigh the boat unrigged on the trailer, then weight it all when its complete

And you velocity guys are always welcome.....82 at 20 it is!

I am going 84 at 20......real question is, is this "price is right" rules?:evilb:

Define out of the box ; surely there will be a need to test more than 1 set of props.
Maybe 4 weeks after she first hits the water?
I vote Mike holds the cash.
