Post was taken down by the author, but it was the following in the ad:

1977 24' Superboat with a 468 Chevy engine with Gale Banks Twin Turbo. It features Speedmaster built outdrive, new electric trim tabs, new interior, new gauges, custom graphic paint, cuddy cabin, dual batteries, clocked over 90mph on radar, trailer included. The boat has been sitting for a while and needs a good cleaning.

The boat was being stored at the home of someone who was supposedly taking care of it until we decided what to do with the boat. We decided to sell it and I put the listing on Craigslist... to my surprise...my absolute shock... when we called this person to arrange a time when I can bring some of the interested parties to see the boat... we were told it had already been sold. This person took it upon themselves to sell "MY DAD'S" boat without consulting us! He has also sold the boat without a title as we still have it. He is claiming he has no clue who he sold it to and no record of the sale. I am asking that if anyone has information on this... please, please contact me! As I said, my dad put his soul into restoring this boat and imagine how you would feel if someone did this to your family...please help!!

What a mess. You do know that the buyer is also going to get screwed in this situation? Frankly, if it was me, I would file a police report for theft of your dads boat in the sellers county. When the police start asking him questions, most likely his memory will miraculously return, then he will have a date with the Judge. There is a good chance your boat or the money will show up before that date.

Good Luck!

If the boat was on craigslist and not by you then pulled. The average joe like myself will never find it again. You local police have ways to pull it up. You mite need a court order but it will be found .
