Tested the prop today.

3500..................54
4000..................60
4500..................70
5000..................75 and climbing
5600..................84

The prop definately gave more overall lift and made the boat alot more loose. I am happy with the cruise numbers but dissapointed in the top end. Was hoping for a couple more mph. Needed less trim to optimize speed, 3 1/2 compared to 4 1/2 on the guage. Still need more time to really analyze numbers but prop felt good. Water was calm, and a light load.

I will add that it still felt like the boat was "dragging" through the water.

K, I think the correct prop will get you 88-91 mph. The best we head with with the 600 was 83 mph. The 800 will get 92-94 mph. These numbers are on the best of days, nice 2' plus chop.

Hi PE,
It sounds like the slip number is a little hi.
You should top out 88-90mph at 5600rpm running a 28p 5blade.
I road with JCap years ago and with the exact same power and prop, his boat ran 88 with 5 people in it. He ran a 1-1/2" spacer I believe before adding on to the lifting strakes. If you do a search on some of his threads from back in the day, like 2003-2005, you find his setup.

Hey Pat!! I took off the 1 1/2" spacer I had on it because the handling suffered. The boat really felt stuck to the water, kind of like the bottom was covered with barnacles!! I also switched to an Imco lower. Boat handled and felt better, but no speed gain. I may try the spacer again, but I'm getting tired of chasing speed numbers. 84 is very fast and certainly fun!!
