Default OK, 5 blade is here!!!

I'm a firm believer that 5 blades are the real "bravo buster", but I'm throwing caution to the wind!! Just got a Hydromotive P5X. Hopefully it will help to "loosen" the boat. Spoke with Todd at Hydromotive and I feel he knows his stuff. We'll see!!!

Wish me luck!!

A five blade mite improve everything but top end. But you never know until you try. I use to keep a log on prop testing with air temp wind condition speed every 500rpm and trim always at its favorite spot. Your boat with 800hp should be low to mid 90,s .

K, I think you will pick up some speed with the 5 blade, my Y2K with the 600 sci ran at its best the Merc, 5 blade Max. And also with the Potter 800 a five blade Merc. 5 blade gets us the best top end numbers. Best of luck I must have tried at least 5 props with each motor to find the best perfomer. Keep us posted.

What size Hydromotive P5X did you get? I have a 29 pitch.Dave @ MGD says the boat ran the best with this prop all around.

I got a 28 left hand. I've heard the same about the p5x working for the y2k. I find Superbabi's results interesting.

I will have to look into that. I need a second prop so maybe I will try the merc 5 blade.

I have a 28 right hand maximus for sale. I cannot spin right because it leans and rolls too much. I tried it once but don't remember any other specifics.
