Yeah its a good idea to get the setback established before settleing on a prop.

That new 300 looks good you should be able to run mid 80's.

Default Post 21 Superboa pics please!!!!

Hey guys

As you may know, I just hung a 300 on my 21 and I had to leave for vacation in Germany before I had a chance to try it out. As you can imagine, I am jonesing, and I need help to get through this. Germany is not exactly the place to see hotboats. Please post some pics. Hoser, I am counting on you.

P.S. I would particularly like to see a pic of one with a 300 sitting in the water. I'm wondering how much lower it sits in the back with the extra 100 lbs.

P.S.S. Regarding that 27 OMC SRX. Why cant you get that thing to fit, the splines should be the same, just can't use the safety. I would really like to know how and SRX does with a 300, cause I love SRX props, they are so versatile. I got a 25 Trophy, but I just feel it's not going to be the one. I have a hard time believing the best prop is a 4 blade through hub even though Joe Imprescia swears by them.

Thanks
Mike

The OMC splines are the same but the hub is different. Its alot deeper in the prop so when it is on the propshaft the torpedo part of the prop rubs on the gearcase before that the thrust washer hits the hub. The omc propshaft is a little longer. I think I remember seeing an ad for someone who could re hub the omc prop to fit the merc but i have no idea who can do it. Can anyone help?

Default Did you try a different thrust washer

I ran an SRX on my 225 Pro Max for years. I think I was using an OMC thrust washer too.

I thought I've seen it done before but my raker just won't fit right on any merc. I uesd the thrust washer from my 225 evinrude but I didn't try any other omc thrust washers. What hapins is this. When I get the prop posisitioned right only a little bit of the splines engage and the threds on the end of the shaft are too short to get a nut on all of the way. My motor has the sport master case but I've tryed the raker on a regular case and it still won't fit.
