I was going to put up a thread here partly to show what I have done and will do for renovation during the winter and also to get some tips and ideas on different solutions.

The first thing I did was to sell the 496 and changed the standard Bravo 1 for a XR with teague upper.

And that will be the last yellow you see in my boat, they're going to be powder-coated black right now :)

The first thing I did with the boat was to tear out the old moldy carpet in the cabin and then glued a new.

The cabin turned out great. I don't have carpet in my cabin.

Is there storage behind the front lounges? I don't have them.

Just goes to show that there are no 2 Superboats that are exactly the same.

noli 02-08-2012 04:57 AM

Wow, awesome redesign of the cabin. I also luv your color selection.

send us more pics!

Thanks Dave!

There is no storage behind the door, I'm guessing that the door is only there to access what is in front if needed

I would really like to see how your cabin looks if you have any pictures

The thought is that the boat will change color scheme both in and outside, but it's still a lot to do before summer...

The saddler has started with the seats right now and I hope the boat will be painted in April

I recieved the new plotter last week so the dashboards beginning to get finished.
This is how it looked a couple of weeks ago and looks right now...

Hey Jim, boat is coming along very nice. What Power are you putting in her ???
Gary

jimmy_ahlvik 02-08-2012 05:50 PM

The biggest problem when I bought the boat was that it didn't had hydraulic steering, Now I have got hold of all the parts I need except the transom mount, Does anyone know some mounts for sale?

What was your top speed? I'm really curious about my speed

A few more questions: How was the water intake on your boat? through the drive or an external pickup?
Do you remember what prop you used?

Jimmy, you should see somewhere between 81-83 with the 600sci, Rick Blueprinted Superbabi's hull so I'm not sure if that helped or not.
Intake was through the XR Drive.
As for the prop The very best was with a Merc Racing 5 blade maximus, if I remember correct it was a 26" cut to a 25 1/2, go back into the Superbabi threads to did up that info.
Best of luck and keep up posted, even though our Y2K has been sold, we will always have fondness for the Superboat Y2K.
Gary

Dave, luv the port hole.

You guys can probably talk to Carmen at Areo Marine to get you a 2 foot x 2 foot acrylic window. Would be fixed so as to allow light in and give the cabin a feeling of larger and less clostro inside

AWesome bolsters!

I like the carbon look. Sit/Stand option is nice when the seas get rough

PPI in FL has a floor mat that you stand on that absorbs shock

please keep the pics comin'
