16 Superboat CC rebuild
Hey everyone, I picked up a basket case 1976 16cc last year and re-powered with 125 merc, all new steering, controls and cables.
My question now is about paint or gel coat. I trailer the boat and only day boat. I want to freshen up the boat, and wondering if I should paint the entire bottom, or gel coat it. I hear people say to use imron, or similar style paint but how does that hold up to rollers and being pulled up on sandy beaches? I don't want to paint it every few years to keep it looking good. Let me know what you all think because I would like to do something this spring once the weather breaks.

I would just shoot the hull with Imron. Doing a Gelcoat job on the hull is feasible, but not practical. It's very time consuming compared to Imron. Plus Imron doesn't Oxidize like Gel does.
