Edited above post.

Yeah, I agree. I have a 29plus that's been labbed I'll try but really need to get ahold of a stock 29 plus to test and possibly have worked. I could stand to drop a couple hundred rpm off the top end.

Gary, did you have bow steer when you were running a mirage?

Yes...and it did come down hard a couple times Nick...almost through me out of the boat one time! went right once & left a couple times.... it was when I had to come out of the throttle quick... but that can happen any time.... and I was only running 82 and a click...

ndaniels 11-01-2016 04:11 PM

I've yet to have it happen, but when I need to slow down quickly I'm trimming in while cuttig the throttle back- think that is why?

I've yet to have to just chop the throttle without being able to trim it in at the same time in all the years I've had her. Guessing that's when it did it for you?

I might have to try it next year in open water at sane speeds to see what it does. Just hate surprises you know?

Oh, and I'm going to break down and buy a lifeline vest for myself and probably my wife. We just about always are wearing mustang auto inflates when we are underway, but I need to be serious about vests if I'm chasing more speed I figure now.

I always wear my lifeline and feel much better wearing it.

Nick you are way past what I was doing in that boat.... but trimming down when decelerating would seem to me to amplify the bow steer.... when it happened to me I had to chop the throttle & the bow naturally dropped... being able to come out of the throttle slow it never happened... just be careful .... John Coen told me that the 24's are great up to 75-80... he said you want to go 100 you're better off in a 21... or of course the Y2K.... boat looks as good or better than the day I bought it Nick.... you do take pride in your boat & it SHOWS!

Nick,if you want to do 100,I'll sell you your old 21 back.

Hey Joe, man I do miss that boat. It was a lot of fun... figure out next move is to get into something like a y2k.

If I was single I'd buy it back in a hearbeat. It ran pretty good with that 509...

There is a 24' Velocity owner / engine builder from Richmond Va. that runs 117/118 mph on GPS pretty regurally at radar runs on the lower Potomac river / Tims II resturant. There are several videos of it on youtube as well.

The boat is very stable deep into the 90's but takes alot of finesse over tripple digits.

It's running a blown 540, Bravo1 with IMCO internals.
