I started a thread over in general discussion about who's gone the fastest in a 24x7 hull and so far sounds like the Sunsations have the record at 104. Those all have pads, so now I am wondering what's the fastest anyone has gone in a 24 Superboat? I've heard rumors of a 24 that went 102?

I've had 2 24's one I/O and an outboard, neither went over 70 can't imagine 102 wow

I have been stuck at 92 with mine for a few years now, but finally broke thru the barrier with a different lower. So far I've seen 96 and that was really only the second time I've been able to run it hard since I've installed it. I'm sure there is a little more in it, so I can believe the 102 story.

Just wondering if it's actually true or not.

You bet! That's a right water and right conditions boat at those kinda speeds. It's surprisingly really stable and fairly easy for me to drive- but you do have to watch it. So far it's not given me any indications of being unpredictable or flighty. That lower I'm running now helped quite a bit.. might still try a imco (already tried a sportmaster with no positive results). If it keeps feeling good I'll keep going a bit and try to see a hundred just to say I did it. After that I'd consider myself done chasing speed with it.

Oh, and I'm going to break down and buy a lifeline vest for myself and probably my wife. We just about always are wearing mustang auto inflates when we are underway, but I need to be serious about vests if I'm chasing more speed I figure now.

I can drop another couple hundred pounds of weight if I need to, by pulling gear and my other battery. Might change the balance tho..

It's not going fast that is so tricky in that boat.... it's the potential bow steer when you slow down that can be very very dangerous.....

Bravos seem to do that but the mirage props and even the rev 4 hasn't offered to yet. With a bravo on the stock lower it was not a fun boat and could get you into trouble. A bravo with the shorty lower didn't bow steer at all for me, but I had a lot less control and less boat in the water at speed. I even had to chop the throttle running up around 90 a couple of times and she just eased back down vs drop the bow like that prop does on a standard lower.

Mirage was always my prop of choice on that boat....
