I don't know of a clean number to just multiply by, but here is how I would do it:

Engine Speed (rev./min.) X Drive Ration (1/1.36 or 1/1.5) X Prop Pitch (inches/rev.) X (1ft/12inch) X (1 mile/5280ft) X (60min/1hour) = Theor. Speed

Example: 5000rpm x (1/1.36) x 23in/rev x (1/12) x (1/5280) x (60/1) = 80mph (theor.)

If you have a real efficient hull like a 24' Superboat, your actual speed might be 94% x 80 = 75.2mph

Superfest organizers: Talked to Jcap at the Jersey Boyz meet. Jcap says forget Kismet. I move that we meet at the State Park Tripps recommended and then take it from there. All in favor, say aye.

so where are ya tripps? I dont know the name of the marina he was talking about but it is just west of the bridge on the south side of the inlet (or the north shore of fire island) it is east of the democrat point marina or cove and west of the bridge. Ive been in there a few times and it appears to always be empty.If someone knows the official name maybe we can try to get official permission, although I think it is open and free to the public so we probably dont need offical permission.

Ill be at the ballfield in babylon sunday from 1 to 2 ,the one with the batting cage,1 block south of park ave if you want to pick it up!!!NOW to business,SUPERFEST,that spot that you are talking about is always MT,good for us,we can use that and democrat,but something has come up that could be also for our benifit! Here goes, On the 26 ,my friend that has a small resturant is haveing a pig roast on the beach at the Amityville beach club!! we are welcome! 20$ donation per family,its called a family day,the only problem is boat parking,it will be a little tough. we can go for a ride there some time if we wish,or not at all! they are haveing a band,dunking machine,DJ, Its about 6 miles from captree park. we could put a supershow on with 25 superboats and others cruisin down the bay at one once,and show DaveM what we couldnt last year cause of the crummy weather!! Wadda do you guys think? And by all means Im not saying don't go to Fire island or anywhere else,its just something else for us SUPERFEST attendes to do!!! tripps

I looked at Maptech again. I do see the inlet ,and the other spots too. Should be fun running in some new waters.
My boat is about one hours worth of work away from a ride. Drive is on, and the engine runs. Saturday splash down rain or shine. I can't wait!
How about you? I here the shrink wrap is off.

Greenport I do often, part of my 'round Shelter run. Never stopped there, though, I usually stop in Sag Harbor (a.k.a Shag Harder). Will check out Greenport next time. We can meet there after I've splashed...

Look for me out there...I'll be towing my boat to Noyac tonite and weather providing I'll be in the Harbor and Claudios and area enjoying my boat and family this Sun and Mon

Needless to say I didnt trailer out to L.I. Memorial day w/e... there was enough rainfall on Monday coming down on the LIE(almost 4 in.) I could have trimed it up and left the trailer @ home
