Talking

Hi tripps,
If I come down to Long Island Friday, it will be after 7pm when my wife gets out of work. I have been corrected, her cousin actually lives in Baldwin. No, unfortunately they do not have a waterfront home. If I was to come down Friday night, I thought it would make it easier to hook up with you fellows Saturday morning.
I just e-mailed JMK4060 to find out what his plans are. If you have not corresponded with him before, he is the lucky guy that bought John's demo 24' this past Winter. I still have not gotten my commission from John yet. I'm joking of course. I have kind of pissed off Joe at Pantera though. Justin lives in the next town over from me.
Anyway, Justin had talked about making the trip by water. We would have to leave Friday night, stay on your side of the Sound over night, then go through the canal Saturday morning. I think Peconic offered to lead us down to Fire Island from there. I think it is a long shot that we would come by water, but we'll see what Justin has to say.
I will definitely be asking for your assistance when the time comes. Thanks !!!

Patrick: It's always easier to make the trip in the morning. If the weather cooperates, we could do the Shinnecock-Babylon route "on the outside" (ocean.) I'll definitely lead you. You could even tie up at my dock overnight (Quogue, Shinnecock West) and then we'll cast off in the morning. Dock is a bit crowded because of the floatlift, but we'll find a spot.

White Trash will splash tomorrow (Friday) for testing and propping. It's still missing a cabin and the rear seats, but who needs them.

We expect somewhere between 85 and 89, which would be amazing with "just" a 525. We'll see.

Today, a Kryptonite with a blower motor (it's the red white & blue one) broke the sound barrier at 100mph. It's at MRD.

Hey Peconic,
Thanks for the offers, we'll see if JMK wants to go by land or sea? If I'm alone, I will trailer down.
Do you know Holden Kramer? I probably spelled his name wrong. He hooked me up with my Superboat. He said he hit 101 in his Kryptonite with his 700+HP 600cube. I visited his shop last Winter and saw that big bad motor. I think he is running an HP500EFI in it now.
Good Luck Tomorrow!!!

Pat: Holden is a friend of Kirk's. What you heard is true. We know of three Kryptonites within driving distance that hit the sound barrier. I'll do a write-up on the 3 bad boys after things have settled in with White Trash.

Holden is a good man. Hes bailed me out of trouble once or twice. Great HP Mechanic as well! He does it all. He sold the 700HP motor still has the Kryp, runs low 80s with 500 EFI ..

Peconic,
Hope all is well with your new ride.
I have not heard back from JMK if he would like to venture by water to Superfest. I may have another boat willing to make the trek. The odds are getting better.
I called the canal yesterday to get some info, the guy told me we could go through just about any time.
Tripps wrote that he planned on getting started around 1. Have you thought about what time you would be leaving your house?
I will not be able to get underway Friday night until after 7pm so I'm thinking Greenport or Sag for the first leg. Then we could get to the canal Saturday morning.
How long does it take to get through? I don't want to hold you up so weather permitting, we can be there by 8-9am.
Do you know of anyone else coming from the east?
OH-Zone you out there??
Anyway, plenty of time to come up with a plan.
Thanks Again, and have a great weekend with your new toy.

Patrick: The lock is no big deal at all. It's well lit and easy to navigate.

Shinnecock Bay can get much trickier at low tide.

If you tie up oin Greenport or Sag, then I can pick you (and whoever's coming along) on at your side somewhere and run you on to the festivities.

Low tide at Ponquogue bridge will be 12:45 pm, so we better leave earlier than later. 8 or 9 at the lock should be just fine.

Note: You can usually overnight in Sag at the town dock, although I don't know about Friday night. If you arrive there late and simply tie up, then they'll collect in the morning....

Kirk Rogers will probably come to Superfest, and where he is, Holden usually is not far away.
