I have had carpet in a number of boats. Personally I think it is a pain; it get soggy and smelly. Can't be good for bare feet. If you do give it a try though, don't glue it down. The glue does not come up easily when you go to change it.

Pat -- I agree with your thoughts. I would never glue it down. When we had a Sutphen it was kinda nice because it was one are you did not need to clean and it was always kept scuff free especially when time comes to sell.

Well it must be Christmas.
The parts keep rolling in. Received My Corsa cut-outs for captain's call yesterday.

I agree that snap in carpet is the way to go. Any suggestions on who would be good to use if I made a template? I want the carpet to have nice finished edges.

Well, I visited JC at the Superboat factory today. Looked at the 21 Legend demo rigged with the 6.2 MX as well as a new 24 and 21, neither with engines or drives, available for sale with customer choice of power package. All very, very nice boats. When ordering a new 24, how is the final product, particularly paint and overall finish? I am also looking at a West Coast boat, the Ultra 247 XS, beautiful step bottom boat, fast, very well regarded, incredible gelcoat and overall finish. I think my choices now are the Superboat 21 Legend and the Donzi 22 Classic on the small side, and the Superboat 24 and the Ultra 247 XS on the larger boat side. The Superboat 24 and the Ultra 247 XS are both priced similarly, because I have talked an excellent deal for the Ultra, which generally is a more expensive boat.

the ultra is a nice boat but you have to think about resale!!
right now you cant find a used 21 superboat anywhere
and if one pops up for sale it gone right away
i had my 24 for 3 years and sold it for $1000.00 less than i paid for it. by the way i bought it new from jc
i think john has a 24 in the shop unrigged you should look at if for fit and finish

Jim H, yes John has both a 24 and a 21 in the shop unrigged. Both boats are pretty dirty and their interiors are unfinished. What did you purchase when you sold your 24? I have heard from many owners of the Ultra, that they have excellent resale value as well. Its a tough choice, but one that I will make very soon.

Your an east coast guy, go with the Superboat...

As far as the finished product:
JC will finish off a Superboat any way you want it, just a matter of $$. The only high dollar options I would recommend are K-planes and external steering.
Most of the Superboat I have seen are done clean and simple. Makes for an easy boat to maintain.

I particularly like the way the engine is accessed on a 24' Superboat. One of the three reasons I sold my Pantera in favor of a Superboat.
