Superfest 2004

DID SOME ONE SAY SUPERFEST.I JUST PURCHASED A SPARE DRIVE FROM BOOST POWER JUST FOR SUPERFEST TRIPPS HAS THREE COMPLETE SPARE MOTORS READY TO GO ALSO.PAT IF YOU DECIDE TO COME DOWN I WOULD PUT HER ON A TRAILER THIS YEAR.WE HAVE TO GET DAVE TO SHOW THIS ALSO.

tripps 02-03-2004 04:50 PM

Only real superboaters show up for Superfest, first year 30 boats, second year,no comment, and it was very hard to get around on 2 motors, but I was there!!! Lets see who is intrested in coming. If pat comes by boat,we should have it out east some where to make it easy on some others. Tripps P.S. I'm glad you started this ZZ

Pat McPherson 02-03-2004 08:10 PM

Hey ZZ and Tripps,
I had a great time with you fellows last year.
If another Superboat from the CT river will make the run, I'm in.
Going to put the pressure on someone else though.
Oh-Zone, JMK, Super30, 30Super, you fellows out there?

I would also be great if we could meet up on the East end too. I'm sure Peconic could pick a place or two.
There is always good old Claudio's.

Dave M. was talking about making a run north too...
If not Superfest, he's talking CT and RI.

tripps 02-03-2004 08:48 PM

Hey Pat We went on a trip about 3 years ago and stayed at the old saybrook in on the river. It was nice and the little resturant by the inn had the BEST frenchfries ever!!! It was a easy ride across the sound from there to orient point, only about 6 miles. I hope we have a better summer than last one sea ya tripps

JIM H 02-03-2004 08:49 PM

the only place jc will meet you guys at is the kismet inn!!!!!!!
you could also start it at the gull(now know as franks seaside cafe i guess he's trying to class it up)
and take a cruise to the kismet inn
for drinks and bulls**ting.
then disperse from there

just my $.02 i know fast eddie would be in

jim h:cool:

Pat McPherson 02-03-2004 09:03 PM

Hey Jim,
I heard from some locals that the Kismet inn has bar stool with JC's butt prints.:D

Tripps,
The CT river has a lot to offer. I've been boating on it almost as long as you have the South Bay. Well maybe not...:D
ZZ is probably right, if I am to come down to your area this year, I should trailer.
I'll meet you fellows by boat anywhere east of Peconic's house though.

SUPERSTITIOUS 02-04-2004 09:50 AM

Being in the car business its difficult to make w/e plans. In spirit I'm there. If it fits into my f**ked up schedule I'm in. Being originly from L.I. I especially like the east end as a place to gather but again if I'm not sure I can make it my opinion is probably worth zilch.

tripps 02-04-2004 04:22 PM

We value everyone's opinon on this site!! Im ok with going out east, and don't you know all boat events supercede all other things, wedding's,funerals'kids birthday parties, barbeque's on land not by water, housework, painting and the all hated Honeydo list!!! Lets go boating :D :D :D tripps

Pat McPherson 02-04-2004 06:57 PM

I have e-mailed back and forth with Joe aka 30super.
Here is a shot of his boat:
I think he'll be up for a gathering or two...

30SUPER 02-09-2004 06:20 PM

Whats up guys? I am totally game for Superbash! But I need to know what and where it is. I can also shoot over to Claudio's any Sunday! The farthest I've been was Montauk following a poker run. I need to have enough notice so I could get the time off. I am in the car business also and have to work every SAT. Hey OH ZONE what do you do in the car business?? sales? service?
I am definitely up for a gathering or two. 30SUPER

SUPERSTITIOUS 02-09-2004 06:31 PM

I'm the U/C sales manager @ Colonial Subaru in Danbury

SUPERBASH 02-09-2004 07:15 PM

30SUPER,
I hope you meant "SUPERFEST".

z.zuperboat 02-09-2004 07:55 PM

HEY JOE SWEEEEET RIDE I LOVE THE RED.DOES THAT BOAT HAVE THE MONSTER STEP IN THE BOTTOM LIKE 3FT.THAT BOAT NEEDS SOME FLAGS ON THE FRONT,ASK PAT WHERE TO GET THEM.AS FAR AS SUPERFEST GOES YOU KNOW WE MITE AS WELL HAVE IT AT THE KISMIT INN SO YOU KNOW JOHN AND JIM WILL BE THERE.

tripps 02-10-2004 06:44 PM

We should start it at the Kismet inn on saturday ,early afternoon, then procced east to meet other superfesters and stay at richies house,he lives on a big canal,or we could camp out on the island just north east of the shinnecock canal, how about the Montauk yaht club,200 for the room,100 for the boat,I'd rather buy gas,or there's a hotel by clauido's i stayed in once,ok for a night, but the resturant was good. Unfortunatly, most superboats reside in the great south bay of LI and like last year and the year before,i'll open my house, canal and trailer parking, hotel help, ramp help, and any other help i can give to outatowners to make superfest a good time and a sucess if anybody is intrested in doin it!!! There is a big boatbasin on fire island that no body uses and it can be ours for the taking,capacity,60 slips, anybody intrested???? Tripps

30SUPER 02-10-2004 06:52 PM

Hey guys, Yes SUPERBASH I did mean SUPERFEST!! Thats funny, don't worry I like women!! I'm married. (hee hee). Man, I did not catch that in my half-a_ _ proof read. HEY OH-ZONE, I am the F&I guy @ Honda of Watertown(formerly J.Thomas Honda). It is a crazy life we live in the car biz is'nt it!! I'm bell to bell 8:30-8:00/then I have a lovely 45min ride home. Thats we need fast boats... to make up for lost time!!

30SUPER 02-10-2004 06:59 PM

Hey Z.ZUPERBOAT, Yes my boat does have a stepped hull. She gets right up on plain! It' like she actually plains off twice. I would love to put some flags on the front of her, I think I will ask Patrick. I am actually still trying to find a good vinyl sticker guy to cover some black and gray stripes on the boat. Thanks, Joe/30SUPER

tripps 02-10-2004 07:06 PM

Call in sick!!!!!! and go boating!!!! Get someone to cover for you!!!! Tripps

Pat McPherson 02-10-2004 07:30 PM

Sundays are a lot easier for a couple of my good boating friends; they sell LIQUOR.:)

30SUPER,
Andrew at Computer Signs in Old Saybrook does good vinyl decal work...

tripps 02-10-2004 07:42 PM

Hey Pat,are they stocking your boat?? :D :D :D Tripps

Pat McPherson 02-11-2004 06:44 PM

Tripps, We never run short, that's for sure...:D

Hey Guys,
A couple twenty or so fellows and I make a Sunday-Monday run to Block Island every year for the last 7 or 8 I guess.
We had 5 boats last year....
Will be in August some time. All are welcome to join the fun.

Pat McPherson 03-04-2004 11:37 AM

Hey ZZ and tripps,
What's up? This was the hot topic last Spring.
Seems like I may be able to gather up more Superboaters on my side of the pond... :)
Gonna be ready to make a run???
The CT. and Mass. boys will meet you half way I'm sure...;)

sb30 03-04-2004 01:49 PM

Pat,

I would be interested in making that run to superfest with you from the CT river.

SB30

Peconic 03-04-2004 04:38 PM

Superfest 2004! And I'm all for making the run. Kismet to Claudio's, what else!

tripps 03-04-2004 06:00 PM

Hey Peconic,Whattttssss Happening????????? Tripps

nolimits 03-04-2004 06:15 PM

Whats the dates? Are Fountains welcome? I'd love to tag along!

Pat McPherson 03-04-2004 06:39 PM

Hell, Zodiacs are welcome...:D
Last year we were a 6 boat event if I stretch the count.
One running Superboat (Mine), one with a blown drive (Zuperboat).
Peconic ran his Kryptonite hard, leading the way, finding all the sand bars, saving my ass...
tripps blew one of his tripps and got his backup Scarab stuck in the mud.
Jim H. drove right by us on his way to park it next to JC at the Kismet.
Jcap got lost in his home town

SB30,
We will definitely make some runs together this Summer. ;)

Peconic,
Good to have ya back.:)
Let's get these boys to travel east at least once this Summer!
Are you racing this year?

Dave M 03-04-2004 07:12 PM

I have to hear some strong commitments here before I say that I am going to tow my rig six hours up there. I don't want to here all the those "no show locals" excuses. :D :D

tripps 03-04-2004 07:35 PM

Hey No limits,of course your welcome to join us!! I started the superfest thread and i don't even own a superboat, even though it is a super boat!!! And Dave you have more spirit then all the superboat guys up here except the one and only,J.C. himself Maybe it will happen this year more then before, the first year was great, second year a flop, maybe this year will be good if anybody wants to do it,and it is open to all boats. I can't help it if someone says they are comin and don't show up!!!! I feel bad for peconic and pat comin all the way from shinnecock and me breakin a fresh powerhead on the way to meet them, and us being the only superboaters there, when there at least 20 right here on the SS of LI. Thats why the southshoreblast on the Fountain forum might take off better than superfest, they might be more dedicated to a group effort then some of the local SBers . Sooo, lets join efforts to make a great day!!!! Tripps

Pat McPherson 03-05-2004 08:02 AM

Hey Dave,
That new tow vehicle of yours need a good test.
Maybe we can get some boats together for a three stop run.
Kismet to Claudio's (Greenport) to Ballard's (Block Island)...:D
That would be one hell of a poker run!

nolimits 03-05-2004 10:45 PM

Well, I am in. Anytime I can run with a group I am in. More fun that way, and I can run a ground with the best of them.... LOL:( :)

Peconic 03-12-2004 03:35 AM

Hey, but we had a great evening at the restaurant and at Tripp's house. And we made work for the glass guy on the way back to CT (right, Pat?)

Kismet to Claudio's it is.

Pat McPherson 03-12-2004 06:03 PM

Oh Yes We Did Peconic... 4 to 6 footers and lots of white water running back across the Sound.

Had a Great lunch at Claudio's. Like to have you a long for a run to Block this year my friend. Let's see if we can some of those South Bay guys to come east.
If Dave M. comes up, I'm sure we can shame them into it.

tripps 03-13-2004 08:34 AM

Hey Pat,were shamless!!! but if DaveM comes up,we will have to escort him ,therefore,no excuses for us western south bay guys What do you think about the funrun on the fountain site,im all set to do it,i'll just put it in in april to make sure i'm ok!! How's your motoa doin? Tripps

Pat McPherson 03-13-2004 11:31 AM

Hey tripps,

I think Dave will come up this Summer. He spent time stationed in New London, CT while in the Coast Guard, and wants to run around the LI Sound some I believe.

Probably won't venture out of the CT river until after Memorial Day, but if you guys do something mid June or later...

Had a little scare tarring down my engine. Had a slight head gasket leak into cylinder #7. :( Started panicking and ordered new pistons, rings and bearings. Worked on it some last night and every thing is looking OK. Maybe just rings and bearings. Need to consult my father-inlaw before I go farther. Good thing I'm replacing the heads though, valves in #7 are burned.

SS930 03-13-2004 11:45 AM

What heads are you going to Pat? If you have everything that far apart, a set of forged pistons might be a good call for a few hundred $$$. Not to mention how happy you'll be once you toss the FI and strap a blower on it!:D

Pat McPherson 03-15-2004 09:29 PM

Hey SS930,
I am using the same 100cc Vortec heads that came stock. Glen bowl ported them and installed good valves and springs. No forged pistons, the engine would need to be rebalanced. Just looking to crack the 70 mark for this year... but down the road.:)

ChristianGott 03-22-2004 05:23 PM

Hey Pat & tripps & gang...
Sorry, I'm not a "Superboater", but I saw your post.."all are welcome"...I used to run a 24' Condor (almost a Superboat twin)...now I run a 26' Sutphen out of Branford. If you and your crew would like to add another performance boater to your local runs, drop me a line. Thanks!
Chris

Peconic 03-22-2004 07:32 PM

Hey, guys: The SVL Nutz might do a little testing this Saturday, March 27, in the great waters of Patchogue

Monitor http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...376#post906376 for details

Peconic 03-22-2004 07:34 PM

tripps 03-22-2004 07:48 PM

Did you get that peconic?? May 15,hopefully we'll have about 10 boats crusin out by you!!
