I read the reply's about the trailer with great enjoyment. I have found this trailer to be a pain in the ass. I retrospect I should have paid more attention when JC was ordering it. The bunks DO NOT fit the boat properly and who wants the front of their boat sitting on a rubber wheel??? I would love to have the trailer that has the wide bunks for the rear and front. Doesn't the Mayco trailer work for this boat? If anyone finds a solution that works for this trailer -- please let me know.

#1-Dutra- The tilted helm is gonna be a must with the buckets. I'm 5'10-3/4" and with the buckets mounted all the way fwd. it's just the right distance to grab the wheel, plus you are now lower.
#2-Cain- O/B or I/O, its what you like. I go out all year round, (hear that Dave M, you won't be the first next year) so winterizing isn't on my itinerary. And I fell in love with the Black Max when they first came out! Plus, when MERC VERADO makes a 400hp 4 stroke, I will definately have one. Boat , Motor , Trailer, Rigging, K-planes , tax is gonna cost ya 50 OTD.I've been seeing a few used 24's for 15-20 less. Oh, cockpit rear seat is more rearward in O/B model, giving a little more room. I/O's with bolsters is a little tight in a 7' wide boat.
#3-JMK-Yeah, don't worry, I'm gonna come up with something so the front of the boat is more supported on the bunks and the step.

Keith got to John's around 10:30 last Sat. John tried to get a hold of his son to bring his boat around for Keith to get a ride, but was unable to reach him. Too bad Keith didn't know you were out or he might have taken you up on a ride. JCap had offered, but wasn't able to get his boat back in time. Anyway, we'll be there in July!
:woohoo:

Enjoy your boat!!

I HIT 70.0 gps !!! Still on the rev limiter with a 26 TROPHY. Trying before buying a 27. MERCURY prop selector says 28. East Coast Marine says 72-73MPH. Straight as an arrow too, and holeshot is incredible. (P.S. Now I can't attach pics at all, even after I shrink them down . Now it says file is too large, must be 420x420?How do you do that?) O.K.. I got it. Must of been an OSO new format bug. I like the thumbnails, you can click 'em, then click that little thing in the lower right hand corner to blow 'em up really big.

Great to here she is running so strong! :D
Normally OSO resizes the pictures for us.
May have to crop the picture.

Thanks Pat, STRONG is the word!
-Just went out and met up with JESSEJAMES a.k.a JCAP! He came roaring by me and two Activators like an arrow! Nice meeting up with you Jim & Jesse! I love this time of year. Good air and clean water. My co-pilot, long time 21' SUPERBOATER, kept yelling "SLOW DOWN!" I'm like relax, this is a 24,not a 21, we don't slow down for wakes! I did launch it almost vertical, but she landed like she was on a big fluffy pillow.HaHa!

Re: 04 SUPERBOAT 24 SS !

I purchased an EZ Loader with 2 bunks for my 24 step. After a lot of jockying I must say I have it set up sweet! The bunks are 2x6's carpeted and after a short while they have curved nicely to the shape of my hull ( they lay flat). I ordered the trailer with the optional nylon caps that actually went over the carpeted bunks. I was told that it would ease getting the boat off the bunks on shallow ramps since my prior trailer had rollers I thought this would be a good option. WRONG! all the ribbed nylon caps did was wear marks into the gellcoat due to vibrations while trailering, so off they came! By the way the carpet when wet works fine. If anyone wants the caps cheap let me know! I ordered an extra wide roller for the bow cause when I picked up the boat the bow was actually touching the trailer at that little triangle section where the V of the trailer starts. Problem there was if the bow wasn,t exact (sometimes tough with a current and by yourself it was possible to miss and possibly scratch the bow so time to re-adjust. Next I lowered the rear of the bunks down as low as possible for ease on shallow ramps and slid the bunks back so to support the transom with no overhang. I also had to order larger brackets for the front ends of the bunks since the bunks didn't even touch the hull for the first 12 inches, narrow hull and all and thus jacked the front end of the boat up cause the bow was too low. I removed the very forward roller and mounted a spare tire and laid it flat and u-bolted to the little triangle spot on the trailer where trailer splits to a V. I slid the tire back till it touches the bow, hence no need for a forward roller and when launching on the steeper ramps the bow rides up the spare and never any problem. I also bought an optional skid pad for the center cross-brace of the trailer just as a precaution since its pretty close to the bottom. I found out just how close once when my brother was helping me launch and just as I started to back out he went to pull out the trailer and my step caught the cross-brace and bang! Luckily no damage and learned another "what-not-to-do"!

I STILL HAVE TO GET AN INSERT BOX FABBED OUT OF ALUMINUM (simplest , cleanest WAY I KNOW???) . IT WILL BE RIGGED TO USE EITHER FOOT/HAND THROTTLE..."BYE BYE BABI" :evilb:
