Question Re: Twin Smallblocks Superboat 30y2k!

Don't see how the motors could have even been "broken in" yet for top speed runs, considering the time period since she splashed.

I learned from a friend of my dads long ago, Break them in hard, they run hard. I have never had any internal engine trouble, but I change oil every 15 to 20 hrs, besides this boat has a 6 year warranties.

Rick, are you coming to Point. Getting things ready to leave Thursday morning, bring your camera beers on me.

fasted....I used to live by the "break 'em in the way youre gonna run em creed", until the Merc's diagnostic analyzer spit my run time history from minute one out . JC ain't warrantying no grenaded motors 1 day old, forget 6 years later.

Its my understanding that motors now break in almost instantly, thats why you see all these engine builders, Innovation included running these motors WOT on the dyno under load with Zero hours on them. My Brand new leased Vortect motor from Innovation that I raced with last year was Dynoed and sent to me still with the break in oil, I was told not to change it until after the first race.

I've never figure out this whole break in thing. Many of the custom built motors are dynoed before instal. I'm thinking they aren't "broke in" when they are making WOT dyno pulls.
