Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
I'm getting close to flyin to the east coast to see the boat in person. Before I waste my money on a ticket I was wondering if someone could measure the cabin headroom to see if I can sit up in it.
What's the distance from the bench base to the top of the cabin. If it's sloped could I have say, three from front to rear? :) Thanks Tom |
Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
I called John. He said well thiers probably three feet or so and he has no problem siting up on the two bench seats without hitting his head. I hav'nt met him but I know he's not 6' plus as I am. If someone could measure for me tonight I would much appreciate it.

Hopefully JCAP or Fastedy will reply. -I am going to SB factory in the a.m. If KRAKEMEUPS Y2K is measureable, I or FX10 (Rick) will hook you up. -JC is 5' + or - :D |
Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
Still havent gotten the deck on Krackmeup. So I can't give ya a measurement. Ed, could you help him out. I'm 6'2", and I sit up in the cabin. The benches are also 6'6" long. Johns going to be rigging Kracks deck tomorrow, then we put the deck on. Can't get a measurement till then.

I was at the factory yesterday. Didn't forget you too many bits & pieces for me to measure in state of Kraks boat. Guess you really could take a few measurements & add 'em up, but WTF? My 24 starts with a max of 32" (top of seat cushion to headliner & goes down to 26"). She is tight. Hope the 30's is higher for you. ***The things I do for SB..... |
Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
That would be tight. I'm hoping for at least 36" on the Y2K. Although it looks like you fit ok! Thanks... :)

Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
Would you believe I spent the whole day in the cabin of Krackmeup's Y2K, and I forgot to measure it. All I can say right now is I'm 6'2", and I have around 3" over my head when I'm sitting down in the cabin. I promise !!!! I'll measure it tomorrow
|
Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
got the measurement. Sitting close to the dash bulkhead, it's 40", toward the midship bulkhead it's 37". I'm 6'2"and I have plenty of room.

Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
Thank you FX. I've been in so many boats out here that have a "cabin" and the seats must be for kids. I would'nt spend the money if it's not useable.
How would you rank the finish that John does on his cabins? I know that's not his focus but I could get it done out here if it's questionable. |
Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
Pretty nice considering I'm the one who does the cabins. A standard cabin is painted on gelcoat. There's the optional backrests with storage. And the cabins can even be carpeted. It's all your call. We build custom boats to your order.

Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
Rick,
Well, I guess I have my answer. When I last spoke to John I asked for at the minimum cushions down below. He quoted me 2G's which did'nt sound right to me. I think I need more detail on what that 2G's is buying. I would expect more but I would'nt know. All the boats I've bought had no cabin options other than a head or galley. Can you enlighten me or should I deal with John. My email if needed..([email protected]) Thanks Tom |
Re: Y2K guys, I need a measurement. Please.
I'll ask John in the morning and let ya know.
