It is a bit more complicated than just changing the rev limiter in the computer though. The fuel mapping would also need to be changed to allow for the proper mixture at high rpm or the engine would run lean. Another thing to consider are the valve-train components used. Even if you did spin the engine faster, would it actually make more power? Probably not, because the cam shaft used was likely designed to make peek HP at around 5200rpm in this 502 cube engine... I maintain that the best way to get more HP out of your 600 is to turn up the boost... :D From speaking with different prop gurus, I would say prop your boat to reach 5200-5300rpm with a vary light load. And I would define a vary light load as 1 person and 10 gal. of gas... :drink: |

Has anyone cracked the code on the 600's computer yet? Well, I guess what I'm asking, is there a reasonable upgrade for the 600 yet? I know you like Merc Racing stuff but I believe Maxwort and Bmax have Bravo mods that will handle 750-800HP. Got to be a lot less $$ than the new Merc drive and you can get one. Go to the Bravo Shop web page, I think they will even warranty their modified Bravo drive for 750-800HP. |
Re: Superbabi !! Heres your pics of your Y2K
Your octane is fine. You just need timing control.
