I just call it as I see it... I am still curious if anyone has run the rear fairing though. Reason I ask, is I'd kinda like to try one on my boat. While I don't have a superboat, I do have a narrow beam single engine v hull, and I'm getting ready to run a shootout in Havasu next month... Every little bit helps!

As much as I would love to buy a new boat right now, there's no way I could justify giving up on the amount of time and money I've invested in my scarab. I'm planning on putting a pretty solid number down at the shootout next month, and it would take me a very long time to get a new boat dialed in well to make that attempt...

As for speed I think the only way it would make a difference is if you have a lot of wind drag on your back seat . They look supper cool but the added weight would outweigh the areodynamics . If you have an upholstery guy that could make you a canvas tonneau cover it would probably be your best chance for making speed due to no added weight ..Or you could run with a full cockpit cover on and have a guy on the shore with a two way radio directing you which way to go ..lol ! |
