How about the drive? the gimble? the k-planes? the steering? the gages? the interior? Are your plans to really strip the hull?

81.1 or2 w/hp500 Efi, 83.5 550hp. if I sell my boat I may buy or build a new boat for F1 if the rules will stay the same 2 years in a row, I do not need a new morot for my boat I need to sell this boat with one of these motors.

First of all I spent way more than 3 weeks dialing my boat in, Has anyone run the 600 with any success, I havn't heard of any? The HP500efi and the 525 are race proven engines, I know nothing of the 600, Were's your X, did you go with the ITS or a box? what props are you running, what speed, weight? how much gas. Did you get a sportmasterlower? While the motor is out get it Dyno'd

Ed All The Above Has Been Stated In Threads At This Site. And The 600 Is Proving To Be A Winner. For Some Reason You Seem To Have The Fastest Stock Hull Around. Your 500 Is Running Faster Than The 5508 Boat With A 525 And That Boat Was Dialed In At Superboat. Lets See What The Other Y2k Onwers Have To Say .

Since this is an open forum, I'm going to give my opinion. You are not comparing apple to apples.
Gary, To my knowledge you did not have Superbabi build like a F1 race boat. I would not doubt that your boat weighs significantly more than fastedys. I would also venture to say that a lot of that weight difference is in the bow. The worst place for a 30' single engine boat. I don't believe Ed's boat has much of a cabin.
Ed, I am sure that you have done far more testing with props, drive height, weight on board than anyone with maybe the exception of Jcap. Your boat is a dialed in racing machine...
Guys, These engines are also not all that different. I have seen dyno results for the Merc HP500EFI, HP525EFI, and the HP3 525HP/496.
The 500 makes like 520HP the 525 makes like 560 and the HP3 also makes like 560. What does the new 600 really make, 600?
And what is 1-2mph??? Is that what is most important??? If it is, then go drive your boat around by yourself with 10gal of gas in it.
My boat goes 1mph slower for every 150lbs added. 76-77mph with 1 person low on gas and 72 with 4 people and 40gals.
In the end there will always be someone that has spent 3 times the money you have to go 5mph faster... :rolleyes:

As I said on the phone... slow down....just enjoy your boat.....Its an awesome ride(thanks to you I know 1st hand)...Get to know it and its neuances. You spent an enormous amount of time and effort in making it "Superbabi" Always is someone bigger badder, faster, more expensive. Dont forget you started out wanting the 496... If you sell the boat only by the time you get a new custom built boat the motor warranty will be out... Your confusing me...

Boats have same layup, yours maybe lighter if anything, My boat weighs 4650 no gas no gear, his bottom had alot more work than mine, as far as I know, the cabin is the same, my drive height is the stock, went alot slower when raised, I may try to go deeper, Jcap had success dropping 1.5", I'm not going into any info on the 600, just do your own homework.
Your not going to get your boat dialed in at Superboat, or in a few weekends. Spend 2 days at Throttle up, if your motor is producing as it should I think it should run 84 out the box faster when dialed in for 2 or 3, I expected 84 to 86 all along. So I asked once, what do you want for it, no motor or drive?

Oh please! So much time and money spent, so many, many posts written, read, thought about. Now, I realize that I can't begin to know why you would want to sell your boat, literally hours after its long awaited completion. I only know that when I purchase a large ticket item, I try to figure out if I really, truely want it, or if it will be more trouble than its worth. With every possession comes a responsibility in owning it, thats why I dont yet know if I really want to own a performance boat with all its attendant joys as well as considerable hassels. Anyway, good luck with your decisions.

Pure energy my y2k has had numerous prop set ups. Merc Racing probably ran 10-15 props on her. The best so far is a 27" 5 blade pushing her at 5350 right before the rev limiter kicks in.

I guess after all of the build up, Superbabi has let down her new owner. Maybe the hunt, and quest for her has proven to be more exciting than driving her in the end... :rolleyes:

I think I know what you feel Gary. But on another note I don't know if you have seen the boat at its best. When the water gets big and other boats go home thats when the grin on your face gets big. My 30 mite be FOR SALE also, found a cruiser that is to good to pass up. Top speed is 40 and thats not GPS. Anyway best of luck with your decision.

So Gary, A Extreme is more your type of boat? I see the first post on thier forum is the day you put your boat up for sale. Can you really compare a Superboat to the Extreme? i didn't. The boat is alot smaller dimmensions everyway. I need more headroom personaly.
