Re: reuinon
A few questions:
When are we talking about - some dates please?
Are these Texans allowed back in CT?
Anybody got room for two riders?

Hey Krakmeup,
Maybe we can time it with your friend's boat delivery? I would bet he want it sooner though...
I would suggest any time after mid June; before that and the water in the Sound is too cold.
We'll let Grand Wizard Tripps and the south shore crew suggest the dates...
We'll have room for you if you can make the trip north.
Tripps, if we have enough boats why not draw cards...
If the trip is to the CT river on Saturday, we could have lunch at the Blue Oar in Haddam, then maybe a raft-up in Essex harbor and end with a little night time gathering at the Saybrook Point Inn...
I am more than happy to play tour guide on this side of the pond.
Then a Sunday run to Claudio's would top off quite a weekend of boating...

Hey tripps,
The poker runs I have been to, you draw 1 or 2 cards at each stop; right?
Then at the last stop and party, the best poker hand wins...
We could have 3 to 5 stops, with the poker hands revealed at the Saybrook point Inn Saturday night or at Claudio's on Sunday...
How about $50-$100 per poker hand with 1/2 the pot to the winner the other half to a charity.

Tripps,
We are 4-5 months away from boating again and the gears are spinning already.
I'm thinking if you guys are going to launch in Mattituck Saturday am, I should be able to meet you there and run the Sound with you.
I'll drive my boat down to Saybrook point Friday night and raft her up to my buddy TK's boat at Harbor One (the last marina in the river). This way I'll be less than an hour from where you will be launching.
Hey Superbash, Jcap, Zuper, What do you think?
Pick a date guys, my life gets planned for me way in advance these days...

Hey Pat...
If you think you could use a second "host" for this side, I'd be glad to help out. The owners of SPI are family friends. Maybe we (as a group) could arrange something with them? I really like the charity idea.
Where are we looking at for "stops"? I have another friend who works at Pilot's Point, in Westbrook, and I have waterfront access in Branford (30-40 min. from CT River, 2 bars and nicely sheltered).
How about a Cannonball Run format? Maybe one or two of the faster boats could carry the cards, get to the stops first, and give 'em out? Once we're all there ...hit it again, so we dont need others "posted" there.
Maybe SPI, Westbrook (for coffee and), Faulkner's Isl. (to check stuff), Mattituck (for lunch), and back to Essex (maybe the Gris?), and back to Old Saybrook (by a set time, incase people want to cruise the river, for awards). About 50 + miles around the sound? End up at the Hotel for a blow-out?
I'd love to help put it together. Be in touch.
Chris

Re: reuinon
Hey Chris,
Tripps is going to gather a group from the South Shore and launch at Mattituck Saturday morning and plans to spend the night at SPI.
If you have connections at SPI we should definitely plan to end up there by days end.
I have been to a number of parties at SPI including one of my sisters wedding.
You can't ask for a better spot...
