Poker run weather was beautiful. Fair sea's. First time on the water I needed to do a test run but the Poker Run was about to start so we started at the back of the pack in the choppy water and cruised a little and stopped to check things out before getting too far offshore. Everything looked good. So we proceeded to catalina. Boat handled water great! Smoothest boat I've ever been in. You do have to use the tabs once in awhile because of the narrow beam. I don't like the position of the trim tab buttons. I have to reach around the shifter to use them. I think I will go to a floor or wheel control.
The ride back was a 65mph cruise in a little rougher water. Still love the way the Y2K handles the water. My 26 American Offshore cat would not have done what we where doing. Kept the trim low and flew across the top. About five miles offshore, suddenly no power! What the h*ll! I checked everything out and determined the MSD Marine ignition box failed! Here we are bobbing around in big water and no one around! After an hour or so a fisherman finally came along and towed us closer to shore until the sea tow found us for $600 bucks to tow us for a couple hours. I was told cell phones work between the Island but I found out only periodically. Well, everyone was safe and I got 2.2 hours on the boat and a high of 65mph so far. I'll get a new MSD comming and see how she runs next time.

I keep a set of jumpers to jump across and by pass the msd on board. So all in all your happy so far with the ride I take it. its a real big water boat in a small package.
