Just found an article from IMCO on a gear splitter.JUNE OF 2003.Forget the staggered Y2K.Picture this 598 cubic inches 750hp through a gear splitter to 2 bravo drives very close together like a stagger set up.So you only have 375hp to each drive. You know now 750hp doesn't seem like allot.
What are the rules in F1 does it say anything about 2 drives. It does say single engine and factory drive but what about 2 factory drives and a single engine.Everybody's interpretation of the rules is different.

the boat they tried it on had a paul paff twin turbo ran 120 making 1500hp and runnung a #5 drive, then switched to the splitter and bravos and only needed 1100hp to go 120mph.Turbos have adjustable waste gates and they knew from dyno testing how much boost made how much power. How it would it work with stock power who knows?
YOOOO TRIPPS the big V is still at the house and hows the zupercruise going.

I think I read about that gear splitter thing. It was done on a relatively some boat if I remember correctly.
It would help boat handling around the docks and give neck snapping acceleration...
Hey tripps,
Is there something you're not telling us?
What's up with your 30' V?

Im sure that having another prop pushing will out weigh the drag of another gear case. They did say that acceleration was like an 11 second street car.I miss that fealing.Nothing like a set of hot slicks with about 8 pounds of air and a 4500 converter with a trans brake!Better in turns with 1 prop always hooked up.If it would work like a duoprop did on my buddies cabin cruiser,he picked up 10 mph going from an alpha with a good stainless prop to the twin prop bravo3.

Hi pat, hows things, yeah, the gear splitter still works, but i havent been using it that much
latley,it works best in hot sunny days, usually on weekends, with fellow boaters
,and the only thing going on the 30V is another powerhead
How is your ride doin?? are you getting ready for june 11th?? tripps

Hi tripps,
I'm picking up my 502 block from the machine shop today. Hopefully I'll get it built and in the boat buy May 1st. But if I run into a snag, the 454 that is in the boat was running when I put her away...
See You Soon!
