Exclamation Suzuki 200 on 24 SB

I know a suzuki but it was rebuilt and sitting in my garage so I said let's rig just one more boat.I'm know stranger to speed and have had checkmates, hydrostreams, profiles,Mod VP,tunnels,21 scarabs, fountains, sutphen 20 and a cigarette.I was looking for a 21-24 that I could put a motor on . I just missed a Bananna 24 but I'm glad because there a lot heavier. You can't believe what people are selling out there;one 21 checkmate the guy should have paid me to take it away !!!!!!!!!! Any how I was looking for set up on the 24 SB.It's a 198_something with a 6 inch set back plate.I have jackplates, bobs setbacks, even land and sea stepnjacks.I also have a 22 pitch chopper left over but it's for a merc.I put solid motor mounts and boysen reeds in the suzuki when I had it rebuilt. The motor weights 456(nice and lite hey!!!!)And what Kind of speeds can I get with a 200.Thanks and I know a SUZUKI!!!!

You'll probably be running SUPER SLUG (59.99 & under). I knew of a few old 24's with older 2.4 200's running avg. 55mph. 60mph Tops. SUPERSUZUKI??? I don't think I like it!
P.S. Whats your "20"???

I'm from northern CT and hang out down at Hamburg Cove. But I always catch the river run and see the screamin outboards go past. It's always the weekend we take out the docks about a mile up from Harbor Park.I did notice a lot more i/o rigs last fall(BIG SKATERS!!!!!)I mounted the motor Saturday and its big!!!!I don't know how much the older 24sb weight but that SUPERSUZUKI !!! made the tires on the trailer go a little lower.I think I saw a black 24 sb with twins up by us and he was movin!!!!Alot of hot rods hang north of harbor Park on Sundays maybe you've been up here?Or you've been on the river run.Let me know!! Going out to Greenport,Montauk,Block,Mystic, and Cedar Island this summer if everything goes to plan.

I keep my boat in Chester so Hamburg Cove is a weekly stop.
Bash and I both did the CT River Run last year and are planning to again...
A 200HP outboard is a little shy by todays standards but was the power of choice when JC was first building them. I had a friend with a 1981 24' Super with a 200 Merc. He took that boat everywhere... Block, Watch Hill, Mantauk, Greenport...
If you find a good deal for a 24' Super, go for it!
With a 200HP 60 is about all you can hope for, but so what?
Have fun! You will still be faster than most boats...

You'll still be able to "spank" alot of boats when the going gets rough! And just think of all the controversy you'll create with a Suzuki on back...People love controversy and gotta talk about something...Give em something to talk about!

Hey SuperBash,
Are you bashing Suzuki?
I talked to my boy Tommy Seatow today. He is rigging his new 26' Cat tow boat with twin 140HP 4 stroke Suzukis...
I asked why not 250HP Verados?
The boys in FLA. have been running a Suzuki 4 stokes on all there tow boats...
