We rack/dock at Spitzers over in Lorain... so I am sure that we will cross paths at some point! Do you dock your boat locally?

Yeah- it is a small world for sure. We love it at Spitzers! He used to have the Sutphen at Edgewater but when we got the Cigarette- we decided to move away from downtown. I have never been to Beaver park, but I am sure that my honey has. I know that I have heard Randy mention it in the past. .

Nice 34. How does the boat ride and what power does it have. I've been lookin to upgrade from my 30 to a 34.

The Boat Has 502's With Bravo Drives. The Ride Is Near Perfect. I Am The Original Owner And Would Buy Another No Doubt In My Mind. Rebuilt Motors In 04 Redid Dash In 06 Redid Transom Assemblies In 06 Boat Has About 500 Hrs And None Of The Work Was Needed Just Preventitive Maintainance. Where Else Can You Get The Owner Builder On The Phone With Questions Or Concerns. Richie Is A True Pro.

Was that red/grey Outrageous for sale on ebay recently? Thing had some monster motors, but needed TLC.

Re: WHERE ARE THE SUTPHENS ? State your location

If it doesn't need TLC, you're not using it right.:p

Why dont you skip the 34 and jump right into a 38. I know where there is a beautiful one that is turn key ready to go! :)

I really like the new 40 with the extension on the transom. Would be nice to work out a deal on one of those.

Sutphen33 02-24-2007 06:19 PM

Sutphen33

i got my 33 in 1988, mid hudson area. it is still like new and i will never sell it. nothing with the same power has ever passed this boat and a few with more power found that they werent as fast as they claimed to be. im tinking of repowering it ith a pair of 315 yanmar diesels. i figure it would cruise at 45 to 50 and burn half the fuel. if i cruise the 370 wide open on the primarys, this thing will go forever on 100 gal,,but touch the secondarys and watch out. for long cruises to B.I., i tie the secondarys closed . ther is a triple outboard 31 on the hudson, but i havent seen him for a long time. lets face it,,richy hasnt built too many of these gems. too bad, fountain etc have found a lot of sucker to buy their pretenders,,,but that sounds like fighting words. its more fun to almost run with one of them and then show them the iron manifold 370s, than it is to pass them hehe. an honest 75 mph at 5100. not bad. it lost a mph or two when i repitchd the props to 1 1/2" more. they are the original cleavers. but i cut the rpm by 350 to400 rpm. i use synthetic in the trans and 15-50 amsoil synthetic in the engines which i change every year. the trs's get 140 amsoil gear lube with a ounce or two of z-moly powder. the only thing else it gets is new platinum plugs every 4 or 5 years and i spray the advance in the distributers once a year. im gona be 64 in may and i hope it keeps on running sweet for another 19 years. i may replace the steering with a hydralic unit and install an auto pilot. talk about lazy? now you guys know about another old Suthen. my brother,,who i dont miss at all, bought. a 21 from richie some 37 years ago. so, suthpens go back a few years in my family.

Sutphen 33 I think I have seen you at the block. what color is your boat. I bet w some nice 4 blades and a more efficent free flowing exhaust you could improve fuel consumption in the secondary circuit, plus pick up 5-8 mph cruise. The faster you get where your going the sooner you shut em down.

Ithink the 30 in the pic on the left is ben sistis old boat not the prince cant tell for sure though. If thats the boat I think it is as of 1/07 it was in sad shape because it broke loose from a moming and blew up on a jetty. My thirty came origionaly from offshore speed and ski and i purchased it in 92 from its second ownerwho was from new London, Ct. The name on it was Quick Trip! Last I knew of the prince some guys from Portland Ct. Owned it briefly then sold it dont know to who. I checked out both of them before I bought Quick Trip. The boat on the R pic is the money pit i mean boat from Fla. Its mine now I bought it 7/05 and I am rebuilding it.

OL40SVX 03-21-2007 07:57 PM

Actually I think the red 30 in the pic is the other red 30 from around here. It is trailered and kept in a lot in Old Saybrook next to Ocean Performance.
