OK...deep vee guys...we have been discussing a run to Block Island this summer!!!!
Let's spread the word and work on some dates or alternative locations.

Since no one wants to pick a date how about the weekend of July 19th or were you guys planning to do it sooner. Also dose anybody know if you can get 93 octane out there.

i think that champlin's only has 93 by special arrangement with the crew doing the mohegan run, regularly it's just 89..don't know about others..

Thanks for the info. Maybe I can top off by Montauk cause my boat wont make it out & back on 1 tank. I have the 31 with 300s and I don't dare run them on less than 92.

Do you and your dad have any interest in going to the Sacondaga Poker Run up in the Adirondacks on June 28th. Let me know.

I second the 93. I should not have a problem running from O. S. to B. I. and back But I rather have gas then be floating.
It's only Feb. but 7/19 looks good for me.

You never know. It could be a possibility. Im pretty sure the runs we have down is Jacksonville and Mohegan Sun. We usually do 1000 Islands as well.

Im pretty sure there is no 93 out on Block. Im not even sure about Montauk. I think there may be though. 7/19 works for us, but the only objection I would have is that its the weekend before Mohegan Sun and we want to make sure our boat is running for that run. What about all you MA/RI guys out there?? Any interest?? If you have friends with Sutphens too, Let them know!!

I thought mohegan was in August.. I agree with Dan I am looking to do the Mohegan run. I'm still would not count out 19th .

Lets try and narrow down a date, I'm going to the NYC Poker run in June, & 1000 Island's also. I may be able to have gas brought out [93] with my buddies work boat .

So your going to do 1000 Islands?? Your going to love it if you've never done it before. We've done it the past three years. Not sure about this year, but we probably will. You should def. do Mohegan Sun at the end of July. It's a much better run than NYC with more boats and a great venue. For a date what about the weekend of July 12/13?? That way its evenly spaced from Sacaganda and Mohegan. Or do we want to it like at the end of May?? Just throwing some idea's out. Heck we can do it more than once!!

Dan, I think 1000 Islands is in the works for us! The guy who owns my [old] Scarab [Viper], has a spot for us at his place. He actually won it in 2006 ! Maybe do a couple runs, Come down to Norwalk, [Vet's Park] docks, Could party at a couple places in Sono!

I think i remember your/your buddies boat from the run. Yea, 1000 Islands is a great time. Very scenic run and the amount of spectators is incredible. Yea we will def come down to the norwalk area and meet up with you!! We sometimes run with a couple of guys from that area.

July still seems like the right month for it. We'll be running from mid april so May weather wont bother us! Heck us and James Gang ran in 37 degree weather after Thanksgiving!!

Dan now your make me feel like a wimp. :cool-smiley-011: I am planing on putting the boat in, in mid april. I just thought that if I was to do a 160 mile run it would be nice to have nice weather.

I can do the 12th If thats good. Its just a little tight for me cause from Sacondaga I'm staying up at my house in Long Lake for a week vaca. Some times it takes 2 weeks to get back to normal but Ill deal with it.

Where are you leaving from? You can get 93 in old Lyme about 40nms to block, You might try Noank Shipyard in the Mystic River, they use to have 93 about 25nms to Block, either would proabally put you less out of your way.

We'll be leavin from the Saybrook ramp. We will probably all fill up on land too. I think Montauk might have 93. We'll have to look into that.

i will need some 93 on the water I am not trailering.
Secong how long is this trip looking to be in time. Saturday to Sunday overnight. or there and back one day. Friday to sunday..

oh yea any one have an extra 454 550hp I can but in back just incase I blow an engine oh yea a bravo one would be good to have too.

Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to put in by Dan in Old Saybrook at the public ramp under the bridge. I have a 31 with 3 300x Mercs and its allot of fun but its thirsty. I also don’t dare run them on less than 92 or 93 because they will burn down on low octane. Before we go Ill have to figure out where the 2 places you mentioned are or follow someone else with the same problem.

I know we have time but I am bring some friend and we would to get the weekend narrowed down. Some of then have plan these things in advance. I know the 7/12 seem like it is the best weekend. But I know it is near some of the other events.

Ok so lets get a date and some other info set. I think it should be in early to mid July if that works out for everyone. Place CT/MA/RI and meet at Block?? New or Old Harbour?? Should we do an overnight?? Sorry i've been away for a while, spring break!!. Spread the word to any Sutphen owners you know!!!

That sounds good. What would also be cool is if we all did a run around the Island. I've always wanted to do that and have not had a chance to. Id say New Harbour if were going to do an over night. July 12 looks good since we may be doing the Miami to Bimini challenge in honor of Don. If you guys saw on the list Richie Sutphen was invited, who knows if he'll come.

My buddy has a dock in the "Old Harbor", gonna try to tie up there. But the dates seem good at this point. Dan, Are you racing your boat? Charlie wants me to run "Inferno"! We may if I can get acouple more sponsor's. I'm willing to take a Navigator at this point if you or anyone else is intersted!I'm setting the boat up now at MRD, And have a spare motor & drive.I've got everthing else covered.

Yea if we do go down we would run in the challange to bimini and back. Were up in the air whether to do this run or jacksonville poker run. Larry Goldman wants us to come down for the Miami run!!

old harbor for sure, I'm sure nopper, ice and some boys from Tom Coughlins RACE ENGINES will pipe in soon, I might sneek out there with them. I miss block and the mud slides.:p:D

I am not sure how many people this would affect, but on July 12th http://www.shoredreamsforkids.org annual event takes place. This one day a year has become a huge event for powerboaters to give back for the kids.
