Mount Dora
Hello Robert
What do you think the odds are of getting a old Sutphen boat regatta set up in Mount Dora (end of March) I am going to document the rebuild in trailering magazine (a BOAT/U.S. product)...(my wife is the editor) and the ride and sites on the lake in an article to be published in June.
Not much in it for anybody other than dinner on me and the bar tab. I guess a few guys in the north could use a boat ride about the end of March.
Maybe a factory guy or two to could be talked into showing up
I think based on the oldest Sutphen comments here that my Dad had to be one of the very first dealers for Sutphen.

Bob,
I'm a Johnny-come-lately to the Sutphen fold. I just bought my boat this year and I'm in the process of re-powering it, hence my comment on costs vs. market value. I'm currently haunting the forum because I'm so excited about my rebuild and I don't have a lot of sympathetic outlets for that enthusiasm.
There are certainly others with a better handle on this sort of thing. I love to see Sutphen activity of any kind as it seems the circle of Sutphen owner's and enthusiasts is a relatively small but committed group.

I had a '72 18 Gran Sport from '88 until 2001. I loved the boat and had a great time in it!!!! Had a Volvo 270 and a 340 Mopar in it. Ran in the mid 60's
Here is a picture. Both kids are now in college.

Hey Stan..that's an old post of mine...Greg DiRenzo decided against selling Inferno to me..another OSO member has her..818181..
I ran a couple races with Greg..Ft.Myers & Cleveland..loved the boat..still upset the sale didn't pan out.
I wound up with an 32 Velocity/T-Bred that became a disaster!..but that's another story for another Forum!
Welcome to OSO.
