Default Rum Runner engine question???

Alright, I just got another wild hair......What do you think it would take to make my twin, small block, Rum Runner a single, big block, Rum Runner. Besides the obvious stuff like filling the transom and taking out the old and putting in the new. My main question is with the stringers. I think I would have to cut down the center stringer and maybe beef up the side ones? If any of you guys with single 26's could snap some shots it would be great.

Next question, Would anyone be interested in a set of refreshed small blocks with alpha drives????? and what would a good price be for them?

You can tell it's winter can't you?

Wade...Leave the boat alone, it's perfect the way it is.

Did you have a few beers with lunch today ?.

I would love to go with Arnesons, i loved them on my last Sut. Unfortunately drives being worth more than my boat is not something I'm to keen on. I haven't had many lookers lately and the longer it sits here the more I want to rip it up and start over with something totally different. It is time for a new project. If any of you guys on the east coast know of anyone looking for one let me know. It is starting to look like new again, the last thing left is just a little more wiring and she will be good as new.

Get a outboard boat and just take them off and put a single 300X in there its easy.LOL
Just kidding.

Why would you want to do all that work to go single?

I am apparently missing something here.

What benefit would you have with a single over a the twin SCs that would be worth all that work?

Right now everything on the boat is mostly stock pleasure version. Just dreaming about putting a large blown single in it and seeing what she would really run.

You guys don't worry, this boat is safe. I just need to get another race boat or something so I have something else to do. Now that this one is finished I'm getting bored.

My old boat is in Scituate, MA. A dude named Jeff bought it and is in the process of giving it a new paint job and rebuilding the engines.

What Jeff are you refering to???
