I found these shots today that were passed along from another member, Still Crazy. He worked at the factory in the late eighties. The blue and white 26 is mine but the rest, who knows?

This white boat could be the 86 Outrageous with Kaama's that's in the classifieds.
|
I still want to know where all the Dominators, 39's and 40's are. Theres alot of Sutphens out there that I dont think any of us have a clue where they are.
|
Sweet pics! Thanks for sharing.

the one in post 1 on the left looks like a boat my dad looked at on lake winni in NH about 6 years ago. not 100% sure, he was going to buy it, but the motors where full out race motors with surface drives on it etc etc etc. way to much boat for him and my mother (both in there 60's) to cruz the lake on. lol
the last pic (bottom left) looks like its the old colors of the 26 now in the hands of wstultz. it was owned from new by Warren here in mass. it was called fasination. i grew up with that boat. used to see him and rodger out all the time and dream. not sure what year that boat is tho, it might not be it. just looks like the stock color scream. great pics. lets get some current pics of the factory!! hehe |

The year was 2000, It was stored at Lake Winnipesaukee at the time.
|
theres one real similar to the one on the right in post 2 for sale in FLA for 38K
|
post number 3 on the left is that a 20 or a 30?
Its got the rounded sides so its not a 26 and looks like mounting for twins. could be a sick 20? Love the boat on the right in that post too. very unusual color combo. I bet it looks awsome wet. |

Love the red 30 as well. I'm not a big fan of red but that boat just looks mean.

Ouch !
|
damn!..what happened there??
|
Boat broke free pf it mooring in a nasty little offshore storm we had. Broke the cleat clean off.
We had just built two nice roller motors did stainless marine exhaust maybe had 10 or 12 hrs on the engines. It was a sweet boat. My buddy owned it when we were in college and let me tell you the fun we had with that boat. It was originally Ben Sisti Of colonial realty's boat. Ironically his grand son was one of the first on the beach the day that last piture was taken. I had video of it being pulled off the beach with pumps running etc but I lost a hard drive and lost the video. Nothing youd ever want to see again anyway. The boat popped up in Miami for sale at one point but even richie looked at it and said it was unsalvagable. We loved that boat. No other boat will ever compare in our eyes. |
That fisrt pic was of me on the bow in about 1990 We lost it in about 2006 or 2007

Damn I was hopin there'd be a pic of my 1991 rum runner in those pics somewhere. I am sure everyone else was lookin for theres too.
I wonder if richie has pics of all the stuff that rolled out through the years. |
I sent wade some more pics one of the actual damage that took it out in the end.
You'll really cry! It will show the strength of the sutphen hull though. Imagine this boat was slamming into these jagged and super sharp rocks from about 10 Pm until 9 Am the next day and the boat was still floating to some extent. Most other MFG's boats would have been tooth pics by morning under the beating this boat took with 5 to 6 ft waves pounding it against those rocks. We were in the waves up to our necks with two life jackets a piece on trying to pull that boat free almost all night. 4 of us on a 200 Ft long repelling rope pulled it free of the flat rock. My brother and I climbed in and started the engines and tryed to back it off the rocks with the bow almost straight up in the air with the tie bar broken and one drive flapping in the breeze The engines were almost under water at the time. It was so rough I couldnt get out there on my Gp1200 jetski or even the zodiac. It was crazy!!! had it movin toward safty of the beach when a nasty wave hit her and slammmed her into the position you see in the last pic. It got hooked on a rock and would not move any further. another 30 Ft and it would have been on the sand. There were other boats that broke free but most landed on the sand and were repairable. The pics dont do the story justice. There wass a young kid maybe 16 that helped us all night on the beach trying to pull it to safety. what a good kid We have no Idea who he was but he stayed out there all night with us. It was a hell of an experience. Salvors and coast gaurd wouldnt even go out in the storm to help us and we called everybody believe me.LOL |
ahh i am so sorry to hear this what a beautiful boat.

Sorry for the delay....
|
Id like to add that the superior build strength of these boats is apparent here.
This boat in no way broke apart or had holes punched into it. It took many many hrs of pounding from huge waves, grinding on very sharp rocks to finally grind its way though. The hull if you look is quite intact for a hull that was comming 3 or 4 feet up and then slamming down on the rocks all night long slowly ginding its way in. I own another sutphen. Probably always will. This boat was rock solid IMO! Thanks Wade for posting for me. |
Damn rocks, who put them there anyway? Just imagine what the other manufacturer boats would look like if this happened to them.
|
I think all MFG's should test there boats this way>LOL

Hey guys..
Where is it now? I heard it was a 33 from a Dominator mold, custom blocked, also that it was quite heavy, a wave demolisher from CT at one time. C |
