[QUOTE=30ctsutphen;2928300]I would have thought the OB's would be faster.
Especially with all the fast OB boats on scream and fly etc.

Are we comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges, isnt TKO a full race boat with blueprinted hull etc. and race engines compared to a pleasure boat with stock engines?

Either way though the added room is hard to argue with when rafting up and partying.
Plus the abbility to stand up and work on stuff rather than being a contortionist.
our old 30 with BBC's was a nightmare to work on under the hatches.

the tko boat is a open cockpit boat and was built for comfort and fun and racing its been a few years since I looked at but I think it has a cabin and back seat. walter had it at some of his POKER RUNS I will ask if I see him soon I had his cell which is hard to get I was told haha but that phone went to the bottom of the sea so yah apples to apples if it had a lid dif story. and opa would not let them race in the new V class they took away class 2 which they did good in for a open boat plus I think the v class is 525 not speed break out class . I think WALTER got screwed so they went to SBI.
I know I'll never win this debate and theres good points to both sides but after owning an OB boat I would find it hard to go back without missing the features of an OB boat.

I'd much rather have twin 550s w/ bravos than a 900 w/ a 6. Bout the same money for either too.
More money for a 900 and a 6 compared to twin's and 2 bravos.

Plus the tow boat bill is going to be less.

Oh, and there is never any way on the planet that you save enough money on oil changes and s[ark plugs to pay for 1 screwed up #6 prop.

If it made sence, more people would do it.

not the 32, but the old 30 should make it, and the new 277 or 26 will fit in p6 or p5. still not sure witch way I will go, waiting to see if my knee gets better or if they need to be forced to go back in. so I am still out, oh the boxer boat with the 1000hp motor has a bravo max worx drive for 3yrs now but has low hours and 1st motor was 850hp then theres the 1000hp and a 3rd motor it was going to be a quad rotar efi but there thinking of selling the quadrotar and staying big blower carbs. if I am still out this spring, then the 24ol will get my motor and konrad it looks. unless I trade my new bolsters with my baja/hyd steering/hd gimbal/b1drive no power/ trailer for one of the 2 parted 30s I am looking at. or some cash and I keep the seats so it looks like I will get one of them to make a single. I was in sutphen 30s boat 2 weeks ago cruising at 82 with lots more power thats a nice hull.its late see yah art
