I know what you mean I used to be an I/O guy too.
Die hard. I had no experience with the o/b's they scared the hell out of me.LOL Now that I have them I love them. easy to work on as far as space, More cockpit room. Easy swaps if you need to, No winterizeng Bull**** to deal with every year and you can use it longer. the only thing you lose is the sound of the v8's and thats really the only thing. I am building an addition and thats why I am selling the boat but when I do get another sutphen I will look for an O/B boat first. That 34 down in FLA is just a killer boat as far as I am conderned. best of all worlds. I dont know why guys like the I/O's so much. I guess its all what your used too. Or maybe I am missing something.LOL I know james gangs boat is a killer O/B ride as well. I think when you start seeing more 4 stroke O/B boats supercharged and turbocharged in the future they will take over the market just like They did with ATV's and Jet skis. I am curious what you dont like about O/Bs not trying to SELL you on my boat Just wondering cause I honestly dont know why I ever thought that way myself. |
i never really though about it. i own a gas station /repair shop and am alway building a car project. so i guess im just more comfortable working on them. a motor is a motor i guess. just have no experience on them.(ob motors) maybe ill change my mind who knows. i also like the look if a pair of v-8 stuffed in the back. i would rather have turbines but then im just dreaming $$$$.

hey all,
i heard from that guy today...hope to see it this weekend, if it looks like it has a future in my stable, i'll be selling my pony... 26'er w i/o's... ...jeff, you'll just have to bring the fam down and hang out....any news today? missed b-port....stuff to do....that sucked...the water was soooo perfect for us...could se long island clear as day...chop was 6 inches to a foot....north wind at 5...f'''in perfect.... do we have a date for the ct river run yet? c |
C,
The river run is the 18th I believe. Just a heads up that 30 is not going to be in the shape of the 26 when you bought it from us! |
i went to see the boat today. he called me. i have a lot of pics if anyone wants them or can post them for me. its a big project. not worth it to me., a lot of questionable stuff going on with it. everything was soaked. floor was soft in the cabin, missing stuff in engine compartent, huge gaugesin the hull 10 ft long, questionable patch under the motors on the hull.spider cracks on the sides under resent? side repaint.i loved the shape and style of the boat. must have been a sweet ride back in the day.its a big project for somebody. im glad i went to see it.

Thats the story I have been hearing too from fireinds who have seen it. Questionable repair must be the spring perch incident that the guy swears never happened.LOL C I cant beleive we missed the B run WTF I thought you were on top of that.LOL We had the baby thursday so I was out of comission anyway. Maybe the 18th I'll be OK to get out as long as its not the same day as the pontiac event at Englishtown. The turbo car is almost back together and I wanna make some fast runs for the show. |
I may have a line on a clean older 30 that may be for sale. Heard about it through a friend.
