Default whats it really weigh?

Any of you guys have any input on what my 31 with twin 300x's actually weighs?

I am looking at new cars for the wife and want something we can tow with fairly easily. Excursions and suburbans are out too big.

Gotta be an SUV

Something the size of a tahoe, expedition, etc.

I cant find any weights on the twin OB boats.

I know my hemi 2500 tows it pretty well. So the chrysler with the Hemi is an option but my 03 2500 Hemi gets 8.5 MPG on the highway. dont need more of that.

30ctsutphen: As a comparison I towed my 27' MAGNUM O/B with 2500 Chevy worked great, on hgy and back roads. I once used my 2 door Tahoe, pretty much same specs, 4x4, same motor,auto--wheelbase & brakes were different handled terrible. Longer wheelbase is better. "HIGH LIFE"

Thanks HL I get the whole longer wheelbase thing.
Unfortunately this is gonna be the wifes daily driver so thats as long as its gonna get.LOL

If it were me Id have found a really low milage mint excursion deisel by now.
My dodge is a 4 door 6 ft bed and tows like dream other than my 8 MPG!
Its a PITA to drive the work truck all the time though. its always loaded down with consteruction tools that need to be pulled out changed over to boat crap etc.

I am just not sure if the expedition or Tahoes gonna have enough NUT

I towed my 24ol with the wifes explorer limited with the 4.6 v8, didn't even know it was behind me. I plan on using it to tow the saber which should be about 5500lbs with the blower motor and tranny added. other wise go with the next size suv up. but a friend towed his 27 footer with a v6 explorer in it the 1st year explorers came out that was a smaller suv. I was hopeing they would come out with a wrangler 4 door hemi for towing there a good size suv.

We just sold out Dodge Durango Hemi Limited AWD. I think the tow rating would probly handle your 31 with twins, but not comfortably. You should let her drive what she wants, and get a dually for towing only. Store it with the boat.

Default Tow Vehicle/everyday Use

Jeff
I Checked The Mileage From Pawtucket,ri To Fairhaven Ma Yesterday And Got 18.4 Mpg. I Picked Up Pete Nopper's 26 Sutphen And Got 12.8 Mpg Towing It Home. The 2008 Toyota Tundra Towes My 31 Sutphen With The Same Ease As The Chev. Duramax I Had Before. I Believe It Rated To Tow 10,500 Lbs. I Would Buy One Again, but Would Get A Crewcab Instead Of An Extracab.
