The beam is carried very far forward making it an extremely "dry" boat...

This is our Sutphen next to our old Gladiator, both 8 ft beam boats..

Thats a really nice FLYIN level picture too. everyone always likes the launch to the sky pics but really this is how a boat SHOULD fly and land!

still a small family company with great people. Richie gave me a history lesson the other day on sutphen and offshore boats, how it started and some great stories from the day. I want that damn red 31!

I did to want the red one, it was to high a price I though with out power or drive train. and it was my fav color. what really sucks is I could of bought the 05 31 blue and white all set for what the red on cost or what I paid for the 1100hp and konrad ace set up:evilb:. the 05 went down in price after I bought my package from 120,000 to like 60,000 wow. I hope the saber will give ernie a run or stay close to him:coolcowboy: if I'm in this fall hope he runs out with me and gerry in case I need a tow I just can;t see the turbine skater towing me:evilb:. sutphens should have a #1 on the side not cig:evilb:

Thought Id add this:

as you read it realize that Bob had more SUTPHENS than any other boat through the years, He was probably one of the most knowledgable boats USERS in the sport having spent more time in boats than many boat builders.

I am proud to own one of his boats (highlighted) I am also proud that my boat was built in 1993 the year BOB was inducted into the hall of fame. while I never knew him, I truely appreciate him from the stories I have heard about his life and his character. He had the MONEY to buy ANY boat he wanted and he chose SUTPHENS more often than any other make.

That says allot about our brand.

Excerpt double R performance website:
To say that Bob McCoy is the "godfather of poker runs" is an understatement. For over twenty years, Bob has been a fixture on the circuit. He has owned more boats than you would believe, including several 39 Sutphens, a quad outboard Baja, centre consoles, and many many more. Bob's current arsenal includes a new 39 Sutphen with quad Mercury 250XS outboards, a 30 Sutphen with twin Mercury 300 X's and this 4300 Supervee, his biggest and fastest boat ever.

The "Reel McCoy," Bob's second Nor-tech was custom built by Nor-tech for Bob. It features his signature touches, including durable fabrics, non-slip floor in the cabin, durable carpet in the cockpit, red, white and gray styling, and a BIG windshield. It is quite an experienc to be able to stand up with a baseball cap on at 110 mph and not lose it. The boat is equipped with new Mercury 1075's with dry-sump number six drives and will run over 110 mph. Bob got 110 hours out of his first set and they were running perfect but opted to buy new rather than rebuild. Bob hauls his Nor-tech around on it's custom 5-th wheel Myco and you'll see it at a poker run near you!

This version of "the Reel McCoy" stays in Port Perry, Ontario with Bob and stays in Canada when Bob goes south in the winter. It runs waters all over Ontario, usually, of course, in poker runs.
