Outrageous - speed with 420s?

Hi all,
I am most likely going to look at an Outrageous with crate 502s (about 415 hp each) and TRS drives. What should that boat run speed-wise? Is there much of a difference in the cockpit size between the Ocean Pacer and the Outrageous?
Thanks,
David

More room in the outrageous. Which 33 is it?

my 1987 33 wite trs and supposedly 500 hp would struggle to reach 70, i think the motors were closer to 400 hp. when tested new i believe a 33 with 420 reached 74. call richie or chris they will know for sure.

Hmm, sounds like 70 or so would be most likely. BTW, my father runs out of Falmouth Harbor; maybe we'll see you out there some time.

He's got a '78 Ocean Pacer with 330s  He hasn't done anything about mufflers yet, but we trailer the boat, so we can always drop it in elsewhere if we start getting hassled. I don't think they're doing too much enforcement these days, but of course things can always change.

Lucky Strike, thanks! That's about what I figured. Shaun, you must be right around 90 with twin 650s.

right on the money 89.9 last time out but i was running with alot of fuel. and i had to trim the sh-- out of it , also i dont know what the props really are ,supposedly 30s , i hope for 92 93 with new props and more bow lift with less trim. we live in brewster and usually boat in cape cod bay . what color is your dads boat and where does he keep it?

dba900 12-03-2010 10:41 AM

It's a red Ocean Pacer named "Past Performance" :lolhit: He trailers it, but they live in Falmouth so we almost always launch out of Falmouth harbor. Good luck selecting the right prop - 92-93 is hauling the mail in the water we get on the Cape (as you well know)!

One more question: Would 500 hp a side get you to 80, or not quite? I have heard there's a cam upgrade you can do to the crate 502s in this boat I'm looking at that will net you around 500 hp.
