The boat is nice! I have been searching for a while for a clean 21 Shadow/Superboat type boat. Anyone know how these ride in comparison to a Challenger type hull? I had a Shadow years ago and I loved it.

Awesome! They're a great running boat.

The 21 Superboat was produced from the old Challenger tooling until Superboat re-tooled the deck. The Superboat is probably a bit lighter than the original Challengers. As a Superboat owner, I can tell you that they ride quite well in light chop. I would prefer a 21 Image Shadow between the two, as they have a notched transom and a wider pad. This makes the Shadow a bit easier to drive at high speeds. The Superboat is at its best under 75 MPH IMO. It will run considerably faster with more power, but requires a lot of seat time to keep it balanced on the narrow 6" pad. I've had both a 2.5 200 and 300X on the same boat and experienced the differences first hand.

Thanks Ed!

Have you driven a Sutphen as well? I am very familiar with the SuperBoats and Shadows. This Sutphen looks like a real nice boat. I am curious if it takes the rough stuff as well as the SB's and Shadows do. .

Thanks,

Tom

The last owner seems to be more interested in buying, fixing up, and collecting Sutphen's than he is in using them. Seriously, Mike takes meticulous care of his boats and doesn't use them... although hopefully that will change next year!
