30ctsutphen 03-26-2011 05:28 PM

Christian Gott is looking to move up from his 26 I think!

floatingphil 03-28-2011 09:54 AM

Matt,
What are you looking for, single/twin, outboard/IO?

fobes 03-28-2011 12:43 PM

Phil-

Anything really, I am kind of on an outboard kick right now though. I looked into that black one in Canada and never heard back from the owner, I understand it has been sold.

Matt

30ctsutphen 03-28-2011 05:58 PM

The outboards are really nice cause you get allot of room in the cockpit, The lower unit issues suck unless you get them all sorted out up front.

I am in the process of CURING them right now on my 31. its tough to go back to I/O though IMO

Not many OB 26's or larger around though they are pretty scarce

Here's one that popped up. High on the price but could be a nice boat being fresh water.

i tried to buy that boat about 3 years ago. it needs interior all done, needs touch up on exterior, needs a lot of updates.
the guy told me $26,000 i told him to call me when reality hit and he would take $10,000

the boat is in fair condition from what i could see. didnt poke around it all that much once he told me the price

If it needs that much work then your right 10-12K is the right price.

fasted I've seen is 57mph GPS with 5 people, 1 dog, 3/4 fuel, 3 ft seas at 5400 RPM. i still have yet to run it alone light on fuel on a nice day. This is also the first prop ive tried, 21 Mirage Plus. I want to try a 20 Raker, and a 19 Mirage. The 21 i feel is a little too large as it is slow out of the hole. 70 is probably achievable with the right setup.

noyzee 04-05-2011 09:33 AM

ol 40, you could get the boat and use it, but if you want it to be nice then it needs work. i want a single big block rum runner bad, and i wouldnt pay over 10k for it.

six, nice, sounds good. i bet it handles real well also with the light weight motor on it. looks nice as well.

then you dont want one THAT bad.lol
Id have to see it but 10K is low, Its fresh water boat, interior is only 5 K at the most and it would be all new.

Unless there is $5000 or more in hull damage and/or the trailer is a turd assuming there is one, I would say its worth $15K and $10K is a steal. That black and orange boat was a steal at its price and I think it was the color that hurt it.

I sold my rum runner for $23K, but it was in really good shape compared to almost every other 26 Ive seen. It never spent one night in the water that I know of in its life. The engines were built and had CLES too.

dba900 04-07-2011 09:13 AM

Yeah, there's not much out there for $10,000 that doesn't need major work. You might get a gone-through 24x7 boat for that price, but anything else at that price point is going to be a project/crapshoot. I agree that $25,000 is a lot for that boat, though. Single engine Rum Runners are pretty rare, so you might need to pay a bit extra for one. Hell, Sutphens in general are pretty rare!

Other than Great Adventure, Tsunami and the Sutphen in NC, what's out there? It might be helpful for whoever's looking.

30ctsutphen 04-07-2011 04:44 PM

this was my 26 rum runner
its obviously the OB one listed here, Ive never been able to get them to remove the listing so I took the price out.LOL
I still get calls on the boat to this day. Ive tried to get them to remove it several times. The 31 OB boat is my current sutphen.

Jammin' 04-07-2011 09:14 PM

If I were in the market it would definitely be Great Adventure or Tsunami. Both are great deals with history.

thats billys new boat, and rodger was the original owner, i grew up watching him and warren (on his 26 rum runner) ripping up the water. that boat and warrens rum runner is what hooked me on the sutphen, those boats back when would have me drooling all over myself, and i remember i would hear them from miles away and start watching then they would roll around the corner just as cool as could be!!
love it!!!

30ctsutphen 04-13-2011 12:39 PM

Anyone got the owners number? PM me if you do , I was going to look at that before I bought my boat and it sounded nice but was all wrapped up for the winter.

I decided the OB, was the only set up that worked for me but I have a few questions for him about it for a freind.

Good luck on the BBC boat Idea! While I am not saying Id never own one again, my kids will probably be in college by the time that:eek: happens.
