Hey Charlie,
Thanks for the pic, awesome shot too .... Isn't this
boat bigger than a 30' ? Also that is an "Outrageous"
deck too isn't it ? And I thought only 30' Ocean Pacers were manufactured at that size, with the rounded rear deck ... And what the heck is on the deck of that boat anywho ? LOL

Ciao, Jimmy

It was so long ago, I honestly don't remember what the length was. Newport is Sports was a company that owned a bunch of different brand boats, Sutphen, Veclocity, some kind of cat, a Pantera etc.

They had a school that taught government people how to drive high speed boats. They would hire race drivers like me, to come and take these guys out and show them the way. Kind of an early version of what Tres is doing now.

We had some good guys who were very tough from a special ops section of one of the services. They loved when we jumped the boats and told us some pretty wild tales.

The funny looking thing on the deck of the Sutphen was actually a seating section...... that we would use when we took them out to watch the boats in action and how they reacted with different trim settings. Early bow riders.

Newport Sports was a 33 footer, can anybody remember the name of the original owner? I bet Danny will guess it.

Hint: Hot shot down hill ski racer, maybe he wasn't even from the United States. lol
