It's been a little boring in here lately. I think everyone is out boating, which is good, unless you're an idiot like me and you tear your boat apart at the beginning of summer. This was the transom when I bought it.

It obviously isn't done yet or I'd post 1000 videos of me looking like and idiot and tearing up the lake.

Here's the transom now...

wstultz 07-01-2014 04:29 PM

Well, I guess I'll have to flip it from my computer. Stupid phone

Wade,
Looks good, even upside down. Are you moving the dash back and eliminating the rear bench like the race deck?

wstultz 07-03-2014 02:18 PM

Yes and no. I'm moving the dash back but I've added a bulkhead 18" in front of engine bulkhead. That way I can have two jump seats and plenty of room for crap right there in the cockpit. This was a bravo boat and I believe the nopper boat was originally a trs boat. My engine comp is shorter due to lack of transmission room so that will put the seats about the same as the boat shown.

Awesome! Glad to see someone take a great design and expand on it.. I am sure this will perform better than originally intended when you are finished. Having watched some of the other projects you have put together, I got to hand it to you for the work and creativity that you have exhibited. Good luck with the new project and think about the money your saving on fuel while your getting it together...

Got the dash glassed on and started faring it. Put a color coat on so I can see the deviations next time I sand it.

wstultz 08-03-2014 10:28 PM

A lot of sanding in my future.

In my defense, I had the 31 still when I bought this one. I figured I'd do this one a little at a time and enjoy the 31. It sold and I had already cut the dash on this one. Sucks for me but hopefully I will get it on the water soon.

Definitely! My wife only let's me go to Florida with her now. Lol. She's worried that every time I go I will come back with another boat. Smart woman.

Once you run my boat u will.
Had it serviced 6 months ago. Plugs, oil, all filters, and fluids, impellers, steering helm & cable.
Haven't been out in it since.
Time for it to go. All offers considered.

Thoughts on scoop? Just a mock up right now but thinking about glassing it on the hatch. Gives me an extra 7" in case I can ever afford a blower.

Why do you have the tabs going straight back instead of with the angle of the hull ? i have never seen that before ??

A little progress. Slow but steady. By mounting the tabs that way I am hoping that they will help stabilize the boat at higher speeds. They are flat so that they give less input or slower input at high speeds. We will see if it works. Just trial and error at this point

wstultz 01-14-2015 08:59 PM

If it doesn't work the way I hope I will just take them off and put them on the old fashioned way. I've seen several race boats rigged this way, mostly single engines, and some fountains and OLs have tabs flat as well.

Dash polished and gauges installed. Getting partial Upholstery tomorrow. Mounted hydraulic helm tonight and going to run hoses to Rams this week. Once that's done I can fire up the engine. Also put a few coats of resin on the hatch to smooth it out so I can gel coat it.

Sweet Wade, Like the diamond pattern.

wstultz 04-01-2015 10:26 PM

Thanks. Headers and blower will be installed this weekend along with some additional ass for the fuel system. I've got the blowers laying around so I figured I'd better throw one on for the time being. I'm really liking how the front of the cockpit came out. It's extremely comfortable. I had my upholstery guy put a very dense foam in the side panels so if you get thrown into them they support the weight well. Lot of work left, mostly cosmetic. Still plan on making the Tickfaw 200 poker run at the first of May. She may not look pretty but she'll be there.

A little update. Ran the tickfaw 200 with the blown 454. Ran 208 miles and I think 199 of those was on 6 cylinders. Got it home and started a new engine build. Had local shop build 540 and on first test had a anode come lose in a manifold which blocked water and damn near caught exhaust hose on fire. Now, new exhaust with dry tails through transom. Just fired it on hose and am waiting for a lake test.

Do you have some more pictures of the front/cockpit of the 26? Looks awesome!
