potential 390 project...need input from the community

came across the old Benjen 390 hull on trailer in south texas. boat is in good shape, on a nice trailer. need power and drives. originally a #6 boat, so that complicates things if i wanted to put some Merc power and bravos on it.

My question for you guys since i've got no experience with a Sutphen hull - how are they for a poker run setup type boat, and what speeds do we think are realistic out of a 390 with some beefed up 500's and bravos?
the cost of 6's makes it difficult for me to want to take on a project, but i know where to source motors and some bravo drives. would likely close in the cabin, and do a 4 seat PR type setup, similar to the 33 that was recently redone with LS power (big fan of that).

thoughts?

its all glass. could be really neat, i'm just trying to learn more about them before I make a decision. Dustin has some power for it, BUT the conversion from 6's to bravos would be costly so trying to feel that out. dustin also has some bravos and boxes that could work, but transom would need to be redone.

Plus moving the engines back and relocating / aligning everything............might upset the handling ? not sure

yep. was thinking i could leave the engines where they'd be for the mounts, and use some custom driveshafts instead, but it would definitely change the weight bias.

adding 6's to the project kinda throws it out of the park.

Yep, its a whole different game moving to a #6, props alone are 10x the price of bravo's.......I dont know what the going price is to plug and recut a transom

i feel like that'll be cost prohibitive, but i'm looking around.

What do these weigh?
Sick Stinger just parted that out last year.
IMO, if you can't swing # 6's for it, roll on by.
After the trouble of all the transom work I'd guess you'll eat Bravos up with that, even XR's
Unless you lollygag around at 2000 RPM all the time.
So there's that headache.

factory was 7600lbs. thoughts on NXT's? would save me redoing transom.

The nxt's in the classifieds are almost as much as the #6's
