Default sutphen super pacer?

Hi guys, I was hoping you could help me out. I found a boat, in need of a full resto, but it seem kind of odd and cool and was wondering if they were at all desireable. The boat appears to be an 84 Sutphen 20' super pacer. It has a hardin marine built chevy big block in it, but the boat hasn't been registered since 1987. If any of you guys know much about these things, let me know. It seems like it might be a neat project if it could be picked up for the right price.

Thanks alot,

Matt

Matt, what color is the boat. I had a 1983 20 with a small block and Merc Alpha I traded in to a dealer in CT back in 1986. Thinking maybe it was a retro?

Matt: I had a '78 Super Pacer with a 454 and TRS drive. Boat was very fast in the mid range, say 50 to 70 and could handle the rough water pretty well, even with all the weight in the rear it flew level when it got airborne, plus they look really good...Matt

Sorry, forgot to mention this boat is running a berkely jet drive. I am hoping to find out more about the boat this week and maybe I will be able to snap off a picture or two.

Thanks,

Matt

donzi matt,
The 20 is a nice boat and I believe a lot were built with jet power. Size is right between an 18 and 22' Donzi and performance is no problem. You will have a lot of fun in these boats and it may even convert you!

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies. I went and talked to the guy that owned the boat yesterday. Keep in mind this boat needs a FULL restoration, new motor, the works. About all it is good for is the hull and jet drive. His selling price you may ask? TEN GRAND! I politely ended the conversation so he could go back to his crack addiction. I told him that the longer the boat sits, the worse it gets and pretty soon there will be nothing left to restore. He didn't seem to care so I left, knowing I will continue to pass by this boat everyday on my way to work, watching it slowly demcompose into the condition of a bayliner. I figure maybe in another year I will pop in and see if he has changed his tune, but I doubt it.

Matt I have a supe pacer right now and its a 355 chevy with a 290 drive. It is in oretty good shape with apretty good trailer and I only want $9500 with about 10 to 15 hrs on the new engine and gil exhaust. Show the guy my ad and maybe you can knock some sense into him with it.

Its in craigslist in CT.
Thers a link to it on this board.
The boat runs and rides awsome you won't be disapointed in a 20 sutphen or any sutphen for that matter.
just good solid boats that handle everything you throw at them well.

Good luck
Hope you get it.
