Sounds like a good price but I don't know if I woud trust that crank at 6000 rpms. With a 1 year warranty, you can afford to break it though. Just don't know if you want to bet the season.

Is the cam set up for your exhaust? If it is making that much power, I am thinking it is a pretty agressive cam.

Is the warranty valid in a marine application? I bet not . I am not sure I would want to turn those RPM's with a cast crank for extended periods of time. Price is definately right though.

Yes the warranty is valid for the marine app... But.. I just recieved a call on a 502 re done last season a 500 hp with low hours... actually just as I finished posting, he wants 6k less my trade..

I am pretty undecided.. sell my boat to upgrade to larger. boats are cheep but will i sell mine? thats the question.

I dont think I want to get into a cast crank scenario reving at 6000 rpms... melt down after an hour for sure...

I will find out about the 502 on thursday.. keep my fingers crossed... paint it up and add some stainless. drop it in and go

It won't melt down, it will break.

I had one that I spun at 6000 all season on a 2 bolt motor, but I knew that it could come apart at any time. Others have not had the same luck.

In your case, since you are bargain shopping, I would suggest spending a little more for a better rig.

I still have this one if you get interested. 475+- Hp at 53-5500 rpms.

Forged internals. Studded 2 bolt block. With carb and ignitio included and remote and cooler.

You need you accesories, senders, wiring etc.

No warranty, but it only has 14 hours on the rotating assembly and a fresh valve job.

You do have to run premium and use a tube header exhaust.

$4k plus freight. No trade in needed. Time to get it out of my shop.

Oh it is a solid lift cam also.
