Hi! Either stainless or billet flanges. Both are real snug and have a silicone rubber seal. Then they go into your regular exhaust hose connecting them to the headers or manifolds. Drop is going to depend on what engine, horsepower, idle, etc. One of my friends had them on a Sunsation with a blown 510 He had Imco manifolds and he dropped from 98-99db to 87-88db. Got him legal in both Illinois and Wisconsin. Wisconsin makes you test with switchable mufflers in the open position. I can just squeak by closed, but not with the Gaffrigs open. These work great, because they are full time without any loss of performance. No pump to worry about either. I could call Imco to see if they have any test results of their own with a rating. Thanks Charlie
