What's the difference in running a 4 blade or a 5 blade??

ok, so I run a 26 bravo now..do I need to step down to a 24 5 blade??

Yep, that is correct. It may need some of the diameter taken out though, depending on your application.

Generally speaking, the 5-blade will give you more bite - better midrange acceleration, easier to get on plane, increased stern lift. Some people experience increased top speed, some less. There's a lot of good threads on here ref the 4-blade vs 5-blade props.
