does anyone know this from experience
I went from a CAST stock 454 crank to a FORGED stock 502
theres supposed to be a difference in the way the made the flywheels
they are both external balance but there is a difference the way they made the wheels between what came on the cast cranks and the forged cranks I think
both cranks are 1 piece rear main cranks

I was told by a few local engine builder that the 502 and 454 used a different flywheel

I also don't believe there is any difference in flywheels from a one piece seal crank vs. a two piece seal crank. They may have used different part numbers over the years, but it's not going to matter if you're having the whole assembly balanced... it'll all get corrected anyway.

One piece seal and two piece seal flywheels will not interchange. The added weight is in a different spot.
If the assembly is being balanced the 454 cast crank should work, it may cost you some heavy metal on the crank balance, and you will have to remember if you ever change the flywheel.
