Default 496 Cubic Inch Stroker Motors - '0' Hours

FOR SALE:

One pair of naturally aspirated, GM Mark IV, 496 cubic inch stroker motors, freshly built, '0' hours. Asking $15,000 for the matched pair or I will separate them at $8750 each, either way I will consider reasonable offers so don't be bashful!

These were built to be reliable, fire-breathing 600+ HP monsters for my 35' Cigarette Mistress. I bit off more than I could chew with the project, and wound up selling the hull before it was time to reinstall the engines. They made 613TQ/671HP on my desktop dyno!

These are complete from intake to oil pan. Bolt up your accessories and exhaust and go! I have invested much more than what I'm asking, don't miss this opportunity to let my loss be your gain!

Located in South Florida. Worldwide shipping available!

I'm looking to liquidate all of my odds and ends, and purchase a new boat. If you're interested in the motors, shoot me an email to: [email protected]

Thanks,

Harry

just curious as to what kind of speed you were hoping for in your 35' with the 496's? Sounds like you have done a nice job.

Very heavy boat, I think the Mistress was 10,500 pounds dry . . . so I wasn't hoping for more than about 71-72 tops. By comparison I had a friend with a 31' Bullet with 468s that were dynoed at 631HP each, and the boat ran about 78-79 MPH dialed in.

TTT - reduced the price to $13,500 for the pair or $7500 each. Make me an offer, I'm in the mood to deal!

Craney, they were built and have sat on the stands since. I have not taken them to be dynoed yet, I was going to use Laz Mesa in Miami when and if the time came.

I'm anxious to make a deal, let me know if you have a serious interest.

Thanks,

Harry

Just curious as to what your friend's 468 build consisted of.

Wayne:

Off the top of my head: They begin life as 454/365 Magnums. I believe they were bored .030 over, Big Brodix aluminum heads were added, as were Dart intakes, full roller cams, etc. with Stainless Marine exhaust. They were built by a high performance shop somewhere in Pennsylvania. I'm not exactly sure of the particulars. I personally ran the boat numerous times, more often than not, well into the high 70s.
