Default valve covers wanted

looking for a set of used valve covers that will clear roller rockers and stainless marine center rise exhaust manifolds for my 454 motor

the cheaper the better, dont really care about the finish I can powdercoat them myself it they need it

so the cheaper the better im on a super tight budget

You should be able to use a stock set if you grind off those little lips on the inside.I think you only have to take off like two.That is if your using the stock heads.

I have a set that need a new finish. They have breathers on them. Hows $100. with the breathers and $50. without, plus shipping? Their powder coated red but the it's flaking of in some spots.

You need to grind off the center oil drip tabs. The 500HP valve covers are the same as stock magnum valve covers and they clear. depending on what rockers you used, you may have grind off just a corner on 2 rockers. This is what Merc does.

I tried using my stock covers theyre actually not tall enough,
they hit the poly locks on the rocker arms, and thats without tightening them down

so if anyone has any please let me know

I think Teague sells some machined poly's that you can use under stock covers.
