mine was a 93 and it had black valve covers,the plastic piece that goes over the flame arrestor read 502 mag.

My '94. I had the V/C's powdercoated red for some bling when I was running a blower.

I took a pair of these in on trade one time with gen V blocks. I put new pistons, freshened the heads, new bearings, upgraded to roller cams, and some 850 carbs. They have been taking the abuse for 3 years now. Couldn't find a better starting point for good reliable power.

They run good, my 1993 35 with 27Hydromotives ran a best of 81mph with these a month before they were taken out of the boat. 315-952-6729
