Default 454 Merc 330 hp

I have a 454 merc long block including carb that needs to be rebuilt (needs pistons, rings and to be honed/ maybe bored). Everything else should be fine. 4 of the cylinders got water in them and rusted the walls. This is out of my 1987 Formula. The engine had less than 80 hours on it. This was replaced before and is a Jasper engine. From what I can see the elbows were leaking. I'm looking for $1000.00. call 847-754-0335 for more info.

Forged crank? Dimple rods? Rec or oval heads? Casting #'s. Virgin block or has it been bored? Any pics? Price may be right even for a builder if it hasn't been molested, has forged internals and decent heads - IMO. I personally dont need another builder, but if you post more info and some pics you may find a buyer! I have torn down 2 sets of 330HP motors. Both had peanut port ovals, one set had forged internals and one set had cast. Could be a crap shoot. Good luck!

I haven't torn into the bottom end yet, I guess I'll have to do that. Either way, for a little time and a few bucks someone could have a nice engine.
