Does anyone have a set of stock oval port heads for a 454 that will clean up and work good with a plain-jane valve job? I have a good friend that messed up a head on his motor and he needs a set of heads to fix it. He prefers oval port to match his intake but would consider rectangal ports if not priced too high...yes we know about the mismatch. He lost his job a short while back, so he doesnt have much money. Please be realistic with what you have...chances are that you will never use your oval ports that have been sitting there for who knows how long. For alittle money, you might can get rid of them and buy yourself another case of beer.

i think the shipping is gonna kill u , i have a set in my garage that i would trade for a beer in a heartbeat , but each head is probably over the 70lbs mark where ups starts charging a mint , and boxing can be a pain in the butt too
ever get out to VA ? , as you said there not doing me any good , maybe someone in texas will chime in
not to blow a 2.50 sale for me , if your gonna do a valve job anyway , and dont want to pay the shipping , go to any local salvage yard and get a matched pair from an 86 chevy truck 454 , there dime a dozen in the junkyard world too , a clean pair should only set you back 75ea , and shipping on anything is gonna surpass that

I scoured the wrecking yards this afternoon high and low...couldnt find anything resembling a BBC, but you are right about the dime a dozen thing...when they are here. I have a few yards to check tomorrow and then go from there. If I cant find anything, I have some empty boxes (Dart, Merlin and Brodix) that I could send up and just toss em in the box...tape up the end and drop em on UPS. Lemme see what I might can find tomorrow and go from there. Thank you so much for the help.

I have a pair of Mercruiser oval port heads that are ready to bolt on. Will sell them for 100.00 They have brand new Comp Cam springs which I have the receipt for (with the specs). Had them checked out and they didn't need a valve job. The springs are slightly stronger than stock. I live in zip 77586, just south of Houston. They have 30 hrs on them since being checked and re-springed. I decided to go with a set of aluminum heads instead.
